ive always wondered what this these stand for i no the T is turbo but dont no the rest. ive wanted to no what VET stands for because i saw a vid of the bs bildeler s13 which sounded nuts but instead of DET it said VET i think someone is doing a project on here with one aswell cheers Tyler
well i know the sr20 ve engine came in some primeras the ve bit as far as i know is to do with the type of head works very similar to the honda vtec head there better for higher revs. i have read some projects on the net about guys useing the heads on rwd sr20det engines makeing them a sr20ve+t but there not a straight fit hope this helps http://www.mazworx.com/index.php?l=product_list&c=244 http://www.sr20forum.com/sr20ve-sr16ve/248419-mazworx-sr20ve-sr20det-project.html
DET = Double (twin) cam, Electronic fuel injection, Turbo I presume VET is Variable cam instead of Double That's my understanding of it
The V means it has variable valve timing and lift control. The SR20VET was only fitted as standard to the X-Trail and made 280bhp. This might help: Nissan SR engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
yea the sr20vet is an awesome engine, but converting/frankenstein'ing into a rwd one take quite some work
