| Mounting the oregon wonder cam to car
Got hold of the oregon wonder cam from toysrus go to admit its fantastic for the money. I've managed to get it on the rollcage no probs for internal shots. Worked out the mic is WAY too sensitive as can be heard in this clip. http://www.re-alitek.com/incar2.wmv How have people gone about mounting this thing on the outside of the car ? thats what I'm really after doing next and also anyone tamed the mic !!

I had a look at the various mounts and I think the only thing that comes close is one of these and somehow then strapping the oregon into this adaptor

![]() To offload the video connect it to a PC (usb cable provided and plugs into back of little cam) or direct to TV and video / DVD recorder via other cable provided.

They sell decent stuff on that site actually. I'd like a bit more quality than that oregon one, but the next option seems to be ideally the £129 bullet cam then that weird recorder/screen thing that connects to it for another £130ish. Then a little sucker mount for it. I'll get one next year or something.

I don't really trust ebay electrical goods, I think it's nice to at least have a company to write back to if you have any problems. A group buy would be worth asking about though yeah. Personally I think the stuff I listed would be the best for most people, I want video for a) fun! Watching yourself drifting is always good b) showing family/friends how sykkk I am c) showing potential sponsors! (rather than just goin, I'm into dat driftin innit... Gimme some wedge) d) promoting Tramp Drift I think most people are wanting similar things, so if people have a few hundred quid to invest then it would be worth it. Great quality video, standalone recorder unit rather than having to have a good video camera as well as a bullet cam, and also the fact you can get 4hours recording on the 4gb card. Ideal in my books.

I was looking into these when i saw the tramp drift video. There is a similar make/spec on ebay that we could possibly get a group buy on maybe? Plus if you get a Cruical 2GB SDcard from ebuyer its only £9 delivered There is one other option. One which i will be using.. not as versatile though. This caddy is the same as one of the portable media players you usually see.But it records directly into divx. There is cheaper ones which take 3.5" Desktop HDD's but the laptop ones are obviously going to be more robust for drifting. You dont get a hard drive with this, but a 40gb one will cost around £15-20 and will give you 88hrs recording. I have a 100gb sat here doing nothing which is another reason for me using this method ![]() eBay.co.uk: HDD Digital Video Recorder/Player DIVX/XVID/DVD/MP4 (item 230137879226 end time 04-Jun-07 23:00:18 BST) Next you'll need a camera This is cheaper eBay.co.uk: Sports Helmet Bullet Lipstick Colour CCTV Camera UK (item 280119894443 end time 03-Jun-07 14:17:20 BST) But this one is better! eBay.co.uk: 46Kam Motorbike Camera - Motorcycle Cam bike TT Races (item 170118182846 end time 11-Jun-07 23:48:15 BST) And if you want a screen just to make sure its all working and pointed in the right direction. A cheapy 2.5" screen from ebay will do the job for me ![]() [/pointless garbage]

Looking into these a while back, very impressive for the money and ideal if you into mountain biking etc. Thing is cam corders are so cheap these days I would rather get a cam corder and suction mount instead and get much better quality and recording time? |
