Hi does anybody know a company that can supply a 1jz bellhousing for a r154 gearbox have sent a couple of people e-mails but no reply (dont think they are willing to export)
Dellow in Auzzieland do em, heard they are a bit of pain to deal with though. Also some available on ebay usa usually
Have you tried Toyota? EDIT: I think the part number for the bellhousing is 31111-14110. http://web.archive.org/web/20051216123043/www.1jz-gte.us/documents/SubDocs4/Fig+33-02.pdf http://web.archive.org/web/20060323191804/www.1jz-gte.us/92Supra6.html Driftmotion in the US will ship internationally, I think. .
How much was the shipping from the states then? To the best of my knowledge the only place in the UK that do them is Toyota, and they are far from cheap (£300 IIRC)
didnt cost me that much! and i got it from there i got, 1jz bellhousing, flywheel bolts, slave cylinder and cost me $526 including shipping and paypal fee 265 queens heads
I got mine from the mk3 supra forums, though they're apparently harder to find now I can't see there being to much of a shortage of broken supras to steal one from?
There certainly is a shortage of Turbo Manuals mate - 95% of the Supras you'll find are N/A or auto (or most likely both ) and I'll be trying to buy the other 5%! There the rarest of an already rare breed - The MK3 forums are by far your best bet, but remember the R154 is probably the most valuable part in a broken Turbo manual and are priced accordingly. They're out there, but don't think it's going to be as easy (or cheap) as a walk in the park.
Im struggling to locate a 154 box. Who says or who has tryed the w58 box and says its no good? What power were they running etc? All iv found so far is that the w58 may not be up to the job. Anyone actualy tryed one? Im only gonna be running standard power, so i guess we'l see how i get on.
make a gearbox? Yes, I'm just finishing off a box of weetabix so I'll be able to use the cardboard to make the casing, I'll use the crusty remains of the weetabix to make the gears afterall it is the strongest material known to man.
How much power will you be making and more importantly, how much torque will you be making? From my research, anything above 300bhp on a MK3 W58 is the dangerzone, MKIV w58s are slightly stronger and will hold about 400bhp, but with the stresses and strains of drifting, I wouldn't bet on it lasting very long
Research and theorys are all well and good, but i wanted peoples actual experiences as hear say and research is just that. I wanted people with real experience. Anyway i think i may well have a 154 at my disposal anyway. As for the power well erm standard.
