Ah right, so basically its a case of the stock wire not being very manly even when it is connected directly to ground by the FPCM. Sorry to ask so many questions, just like to understand things and make sure it is worth doing!

Yep, the skinny wire causes voltage losses. Like I said in my other post I got an extra 2.something volts.
