| touge runner | KE70 swap My mate got a Coolrolla KE70 DX (coupe) - 800kgs of japanese tyteness. He also got a 4K-monster inside equipped with 60 hp or something... So he wants to swap the 4K with 4AGE 20v. 4AGE shipped from Japan w/ gearbox would be about £850 here. Buuuut by now a local guy sells a nice 1G-GTE (inline-6, 2 litre twin-turbo sexyness) from his GA70 for only £350! The guy wanna swap 1G with 1JZ, so he sells the current engine. I can also get a W55 for cheap if he won't sell his gearbox and help my mate to install the new engine. But he is afraid that 1G-swap might ruin his perfectly balanced lightweight rolla. What should we do? ![]() p.s. Do AE86 suspension parts fit KE70? |

| OK, 1G, straight 6?, is going to be heavy. And then try going to buy some spares for it. The 850 notes I reckon is for a blacktop with a loom? I reckon a standard 4age with loom could be had for peanuts. This would double you're horsepower in a 800 kilo chassis. I recommend you do a search on KE70 + AE86. The downside is the cheap JDM tyteness is going to cost AE86 money for AE86 parts. From the top of my head, crossmember to mount a 4A will not be peanuts, a T50 gearbox, driveshafts etc. Keep it standard and mint for a few years, sell it for +bucks |
