2 way diff problem??

Fitted a Kazz 2 way(used but low mileage) already in a case to my s14 the other day and after topping up the oil decided to take it for a run. It made the usual clonks etc on reversing and 1st gear but otherwise seemed fine. However after a quick motorway blast it now clonks, bangs and chatters very loudly indeed. It sounds so loud that you would think the subframe is goin to fall off!! Also it now makes these noises(chattering) even on the slightest of bends-even on a shallow motorway bend at 60mph?? I've looked at all the subframe bushes just in case; and all seem ok. I am running 10J rear wheels with wide tyres and was wondering whether this could affect it?? I know they are supposed to make noise but I am concerned about it getting much louder after my motorway run??? (By the way I topped it up with Motul 90 PA mineral oil) Any comments very welcome. Am I safe to goto DWYB tomorrow???

Difficult to diagnose by your description alone, but the LSD may not have been bedded-in correctly which will leave the plate surfaces uneven to each other.

You may indeed have worn bushes on your subframe/arms which amplify the movement of the diff. Grippier tyres will send more force back through the shafts/arms/diff/cradle.

You should be able to make the grabbing disappear on corners by clutching in. If not, there is a problem with set, too much friction co-efficient of the lubricant, too much preload or incorrect bedding-in.

The Motul oil should be fine, though KAAZ specify an 80W90 LSD oil which would be slightly thinner and generally allow a little more slip than a 90 weight.

I'd try doing the bedding-in procedure again, change the oil to an 80W90 GL-5 LSD oil and see if there is any improvement.

Yes if I push the clutch in around corners all of the noises disappear- so does this mean I need to bed it in again??

The fact that it opens up is good, means preload isn't crazily high and it hasn't set.

But from your essay it sounds like it hasn't been bedded-in properly. So I would run the bedding-in procedure.

But of course you may just be over-exaggerating the normal noises of a tight, hardcore multiplate LSD...
