My 1JZ'd Soarer passed the C/O & Cat test (without a cat), it just means your car is not runing right!! High C/O's is simply overfuelling which has proabably killed your Lambda.

Absolutely no mechanical reason why your car should running so rich under low load, have you a Power FC on it or similar?

Oh yeah my Soarer manages over 30mpg on a run when its running right

My cars would probably pass anyway with them being ancient and non-turbo, but I havn't had any cars emission tested for years

Fife is a couple of hours away from me but might try it if i can't find anywhere nearer soon

Yeah i have an Apexi Power FC on it. It also has a Greddy Profec B which currently has the boost switched off due to the turbo being newly rebuilt and needing run in. There is some white smoke coming from the exhaust but not 100% sure what is causing it, the compression is fine on it though.

Do you think a change of Lambda would help reduce it significantly?

I know of a friendly MOT tester just down the road from me, the other option is go and have a word with first drive just up at fettereso and see if their willing to accomodate you.
