need help on tyre size?

Right i am going to be putting my new wheels on my hcr32 but i dont know what size rubber to put on them. see here is my problem. The wheels are 18x8.5s and et25 so things are a bit tight under the arches. what size tyres would you lot say would be best to fit under standard arches?

225/40 should be fine. I had 245/45's on an 8.5j et35 on a slammed GTS:

Nah, completely standard, unmolested arches, they did rub on the sidewall though. The car never drove with those wheels on it.. just pushed in and out of the garage a couple of times.

all went well could do with being a little bit lower but the arches would need to be done so ill leave that for the moment but what do you think? will get some better pics when i get time and when the suspention has settled.
