Tyre levers - worth to try?

I've been looking on Ebay and my local tool shop to buy some big strong tyre levers and attempt to change the tyres myself. Is it worth to do this to save a few quid or is it a lot of hassle?

mikes right into the old manual tyre changing banter, its a whole load of hard work if u ask me, before i had a machine i just hit people up with favours/deals/fags/lunch etc to get em swapped.

i use a manual tyre changer they cost around 50 quid or so search e-bay for manual tyre changers and you'll see them good job on steel rims and alloys you don't care about but wouldn't be much good on low profile 17'

levers would be soul distroying

Levers work and are easy once you've had a bit of practice. They do munch alloys a bit though.

Send a message via MSN to OrionRS
You can get protectors for the rims.
