It sounds more like BE's brother, tappets make it sound like a diesel, really, almost the same however BE make a marbels rattling around sound which your seems to do

However if its tappets, I wrote a complete How-To on SXOC named:

How To: Change your hydraulic lifters .. or something, can't find it as I'm banned

Impatient arent you.

Sounds like big ends to me rather than a tappet.

Another vote for big ends. Rev and hold it at 2.5/3k to see if that's when it makes the noise.

Sound's identical to big end's but.......

Mine has started a very small sound similar to your's from the rocker's until the engine is at full running temp.
I believe it's to do with all the limiter bashing

If your certain it's from top end and not bottom, change your hydraulic lifter's

that's BE i reckon...mie did much the same...now ive got top end knock and it drops off after the block heats up...where as BE rattle stays all the time, hold it at 3k and if it's still as loud...get the sump off!!!

its at top and goes when hot, so cant be big ends...
plus checked them and the shells were fine.

but I got the new shells just incase, but they r 0.25 oversized, does that mean i have to grind the crank back 0.25mil

yes you have to grind the crank for oversize bearings

To replace the BE's its easier to just take the engine out. It works better, neater and in the end its faster than you might expect. Taking the engine out isn't as much work as the phrase makes it sound. Most people get shivers upon hearing 'taking the engine out' , don't want to brag but its not that hard. Not to mention, on my LHD I tried and tried getting the sump out with engine in but with no luck. And hell if I could get it out (which should be possible somehow..) I wonder if I could get it in properly with the instant gasket and all.
