8x15 et-15 on an e30 grief or not ???????

just ordered some wheels for the e30, 8x15 et00 but im thinking of getting some 15mm spacers as well, just wondering if it'll cause me major grief or will just a flare of the arches do the job or will i have to batter the inner arch as well ? . im gonna be running 195/45/15 tyres.

wanting the wheels to sit like this

^^^^^^^well i know the wheels are 8x16 et10 im presuming the hub adapters are 25mm making et-15, am i correct (if anyone knows this car) ????

cheers

How bout you find out when you get them, or would that be crazy talk? I know if I had anything more offset/wider than 15x7 et30 std. BBS then I'd rub like frick on flared rear arches.

Pretty sure the wheels will fit sexually anyway, just add spacers if necessary. Depending how low you go you will find anything more extreme than that 8j et0 will be stupid. My wheels are effectively around 15x7 et0 up front and they sit flush with the arches at the top (bout 2deg neg camber) and stick out at the bottom. So add an extra 12mm and you will have nice poke, with 195/50 tyres you'll need a good flare on the fronts. On the back you have similar room but to get anything like low you'll have to get busy with the arches, -15 would limit your ride height a lot and look like a ghey 4x4 like your example picture.

Just seen you said you wanted it to sit like that ghey 4x4. Don't get me wrong the fitment is nice but it's painfully high! Any muppet can fit big wide wheels but to get it sitting nicely down on them is where the care and archwork comes in. Good luck with the rims, they should be great as they are make sure you post up the pictures.

16*9.5 et 15 was about as big as i could go on mine without destroying the arches. dont think you will need the spacers

just meant thats how far out i'd like the wheels to sit not at that ride height, i'll put the wheels on, then when i've bought the suspension kit i'll post pics, (its on crappy jammex springs atm and its lower on the back than the front ), was thinking of going for 60mm drop spax psx kit do you think that will be low enough as the only 80mm springs i can find are again the shitty jammex ones .

Braaaappp.. 8j et-15... I need an extra 10mm spacer on the back though.

Granted my arches are now far from standard lol and the front needs major lowerage from where it is.. just need to work out how to do it and still retain an inch of shock travel.

Robbs, they don't make 120mm springs but that's how low mine is. Random cut coilover springs on the back in stock location, cut to frick spax springs up front. The front strut housings are being rested on my the upper spring seats though so not recommended lol. Handles like wank.

If E30 is anything like E36 then with ET10 you will be more than fine with standard arch rolling. I think going for 25mm spacers will require proper work to fit them and get the car as low as possible. On BMW's I've noticed standard springs come in 60mm max. After that it's the angle grinder and good use of cable ties.

MJG have you still got that photo of your E28 with millions of zip ties around your spring?

if i got some 80mm springs made up by leda and used spax shocks would i still need to use jubilee clips or is that only needed on a cut springs bodge jobby ?????? cos i just dont like the idea of springs being held in by cable ties or jubilee clips ,surely an mot failure ?????

jubilee clips are fine there only to locate the spring for when you jack the car up/down
