180sx upper mount problem

my mate bought a set of t3 upper mounts from T3 for his 97 180 sx the mounts fit perfect but when you put the top of the coilover up through the hole there is such little space that the nut wont go on properly? any suggestions what could be wrong,

have you tried jacking the bottom of the suspension so the top goes more through the hole enough to tighten the nut?

yep tried all that, the problem is that the "sleeve" part of the nut that actually goes down between the top of the shock and the camber plate is that there is no room for it? i presume there is only 1 option of a upper mount when ordering

are you talking about the bolt that connects the strut to the top mount?

ive noticed on my HKS coilovers that the bolt is only gripping a small bit of thread, i think this ok.

ill try and get a pic tomorrow for you if it helps
