the downside to the yb is that you must be fat 30+ usually a self employed builder and on your way to owning an impreza.

its quite clear the reason Yb's have bad reputation for blowing up is that fat cossie owners usually listen to other fat cossie owner when it comes to "choonin".
if someone told fat cossie owners to stop listening to each other and to people who know what they are on about then the yb would be rid of its bad reputation forever

sorry stav but end of day it's a ford. i'm no jdm bummer and definitely not a huge sr20 fan either but anything is acheivable on any engine with enough time and money

Hahaha.

It tears me up that I'll never be able to have a Sapphy Cosworth because my arms would look stuuuupid covered in tattoos

Aye, I'd rather have a decent Ford than a Nissan.

umm not true my 1.8 CA ran 510BHP on tesco 99 = 283bhp/ltr
IIRC on sxoc buffy runs his at near 650 on pump fuel also a 1.8 CA = 361/ltr

Totally unrelated to what I was talking about, but the Mazworx SR was mentioned purely as it was silly power, so better put this YB up.

Lol. for about 3 laps.

YB: Overpriced. turn the boost up, blow up yer saph cossie and buy an impreza. Then do the same to that.

SR20: F*cking chain drive. F*cking gay VVT on the blacktop.

4G63: F*cking balance shaft. F*cking valvetrain.

3S-GTE: F*cking 15 degree cant. F*cking transverse design a total bitch to make it sit in a RWD car.

F20C: Still f*cking expensive. But VTEC just kicked in yo.

FJ20& Friends: Sounds nice but see comments on YB.

C20LET: If you can find one, usually overpriced. Not bad though.

The conclusion I came to was four bangers generally suck. Buy a nice big six or eight and force feed the shit out of it.
