Diff Oil, how frequently should I change?

Having had a brief look through the technical section, it doesn't look like anybody has asked this before...

I've got a TRD 2-way plated diff. I changed the oil last weekend thinking it was well overdue a change and worried about what crap might come out of it!

Anyway I personally have done 3 drift days with no oil change, I know Pete took it to one before I bought the car and god knows how many tracks it saw in Japan, but the oil I took out on Saturday looked like it was fresh out the bottle!!! Despite not smelling too beautiful It's a daily driver aswell and I've clocked up 8k in the last 3 months or so, so it gets worked!

The diff was performing perfectly before I swapped the oil but I wanted to be on the safe side so to speak.

Anyway just wondered what people would say a recomended oil change interval would be as I wonder if maybe I don't need to be as pedantic with it as first thought?

Cheers, James

mine gets changed after every drift day or every 3000 miles, same as the engine and gearbox oil.

i doubt many people would be able to tell i had a 2-way in my car if they drove it. its that quiet

ive done 2 drift days, and Ive change it twice in abou 2000 miles

for the sake of about £12 and a (messy) 30min job, its gotta be worth it

Thats what I thought about doing, as it's not exactly an expensive exercise every 8 weeks or so!

In all fairness my diff seems really quiet, a slight droning noise I suppose but nothing to block out the sound of fucked bushes, rattling everything else and the droning from a stripped out hatchback

Cheers for the input!
