quick release steering wheel spacer

hi there,

ive been looking at quick release steering wheel spacers and been reading up on them, but ive read that you can get play in the release mechanisms, is this true?

would it also count as a security feature in the eyes of the insurance or is it just another modification to them, i would remove the steering wheel when ever i parked the car as i would need to get otu of my bucket seat if i was to bring the steering wheel another 60mm towards me.

cheers ian

Ours don't have any play in them at all. Some of the others I've seen are pretty terrible quality.

But do insurance companies see them as regular modifications or safety features ?
