| it will lock more quickly and more consistantly than the vlsd, allowing you to control your drifting better. it will also lock under deceleration, allowing you to initiate by lifting off or down shifting |

| so it is spinning just one wheel then? the vlsd is gone then. a 2 way lsd (or 1 way or 1.5 way) would definitely help this, as it will lock and spin (or grip) both wheels when you accelerate. with my 2way, if i accelerate hard through a 2nd gear corner in the dry, it won't step out without encouragement (flick or other), but that's because i've a very grippy setup. what's the best diff you ask? all depends on what you will use use it for. if it's just a road car, you're probably better off with a 1.5 way, as it won't lock so vigourously under deceleration, allowing you to brake into corners with more stability. if you're going to drift the car on track, then a 2 way is better, as you can use the locking under deceleration to your advantage. the cheap option is to weld the diff that's currently in it, meaning it's always locked. (before you ask about the effects of a welded diff on road driving, try the search button, been covered many times |
