S13, more left lock than right??

I've got about a quarter turn more left lock than I have right, is this normal??

I dont recall any of my previous S13's doing this

If its not normal, what do I need to be checking?

Ta,
Ed

Are the wheels straight when the steering wheel is centralised?
If so then its almost like there is a tierod-spacer / uprated tierod with spacer on only one side. Perhaps the previous owner broke one side and replaced it with a standard? although the tein ones need the accompanying tie rod ends because they are more beefy than the oem ones.

Haha, that'll probably be it then you just need to make each side the same. If you've replaced one side with teins then you'll need to do the other side to match it because they have built in spacers.

FYI, my teins didn't have built in spacers. I wasn't aware that they did. My guess is that it has been aligned over time just by adjusting one side of the steering assembly rather than centralising them both. IE, if you took both steering arms off, one of them would be shorter than the other, meaning the end of the steering arm would be hitting the end of the rack sooner than on the other side, thus giving you less lock.

You could sort it yourself though I think, take both arms off, measure, get an average of the two lengths, set both arms at this length, replace and voila, steering should be perfectly central. Either that, or something is bent.

They don't, Dave. They have a slip on thick washer but aren't built in.

BTW-'Chelle says your sig pic looks special, but I think you look lovely.
