| gripper | Streched tyre help......... Right, i want to try some stretched tyres on my suzuki, (silly idea you may think but Hey) this is really the main reason i signed up to ask this as i know a few people here will be running stretched tyres and the kinda stuf you do, i should imagine they take a good old thrashing now and again........ basically my current tyres at the mo are 265/5015. and look like this...... ![]() Dont worry, it will be getting lowered before tyres go anywere near it! lol just wondered if any one knew what size i should go for, i dont want a silly stretch which is dangerous but i want to keep it kinda that chunky (ie not go low profile) iv seen a vid on here of one similar but i cant find it now (typical) ..... just something a lil like this..... ![]() any help would be apprciated! |

| unless your alloys stick out the arches or whatnot which is making you need to stretch, which they dont by the looks of them other pics you put up, you will just be making a gay car even gayer. also, how wide are your wheels? cant say owt without that? im guessing 9s? 225s would be more like it. im running 225s on a 9.5 and its not exactly mental stretch, but its about what your on about. dont tho, please, dont |

| Correct me if I am wrong. Going off of the tyre size you have given. The current tire width is a little over 10 inches correct? (265mm divided by 25.4mm(1 inch) = roughly 10.433 inches Now most manufacturers will suggest running a tyre that is two inches wider than the rim for the sake of protecting the rim and tire bedding. With that in mind.....I am willing to bet you currently have 8 inch rims. If my understanding and calculations are correct start out with a 205 or a 195 tyre on your current set of rims. If you happen to experience to much understeer run wider tyres in the front. Last edited by Rayne : 18-09-2008 at 04:52. |
