| sr20 valve stem oil seals? Ive just bought the laurel from paul at jap imports,and when driving it in traffic she puffs smoke out when I put my foot back on the gas,this is valve stem oil seals right?is this an expensive job?really bugs though me the car looks great but I only like smoke coming off the tyres ,need to get this sorted!cheers |

| its a cheap enough job.but maybe you should get the head checked over while your at it,itll save money in the long run to do it now.the valve springs will have to come out to do the seals,so get the valves and seats checked,and grind in valves if needed.seals are about £30 for inlet and exhaust(theyre diffrent).ideal time for chucking in aftermarket springs and cams now if you have the $$$ |

| for fcuk all money,you can get a serious head package.brian crower do a 264' 12.06 mm cam,uprated valve springs,and titanium retainers.all for about $500.that is hardly anything in £££.its top quality stuff too.i know plenty of engine builders who swear by their quality.or you could go greddy easycams and keep the stock springs&retainers. ebay.com is your friend. |
