| yeah you "can" do it, but its alot of work for no real gains imho. The VVT engine can take more power, then the redtop for a start, but depends what you want, the redtop head is better because no vvt to fail and you can put nn14 soild lifters and rockers. Which is a cheap upgrade, also you can put the pulsar n14 GTiR throttle bodies onto the car, which would make it savage. ![]() The main few things you must note, the 53J block (redtop) rocks different pistons, rods and crank to the 54c block (vvt blacktop) as it has better 54c pistions and some of them have larger 19mm big end bearings which means it can transmit 10% more power without wiping the bearing, The VVT would need to be blocked off for the head to go on. clarkey. |
