    Uk odc 2011

After a few discussions myself and the team who run the ODC have decided on the entry criteria for the 2011 season

there has been some issues with who holds what liscence etc and the validty of liscences that have been dished out over the years

    So for 2011

the competition is open to any one who did not compete in any form of professional drift competition during the 2009 + 2010 season and who does not hold a valid BDC or Pro Drift Liscence

this keeps a 2 year buffer between us and the BDC as we feel 2 years out of the BDC and you will be well below the standard they are driving at currently.

for 2011 we are running 2 classes

Class A - Drivers who have competed in any form of pro drift competion before 2009, drivers who have been drifting for numerous years and has a high skill level, the top 15 drivers from the 2010 ODC final

Class B - Drivers who have never competed in any form of pro drift competition, drivers who have only been drifting a short period of time, drivers who them selves or you venue organiser feels you will be suited in the B class

The 2011 ODC class B winner will move up in to class A for 2012

where as the 5 people with the lowest scores from class A in the qualifying rounds will move down in to class B

Most venues will be be running a series of rounds and you need to have scored in a minimum number of rounds to have a chance of qualifying for the final

For instance a venue holds 6 qualifying rounds and you have to score at minimum of 3 rounds for your scores to count towards you qualifying for the final

after the venue has finished their rounds the 5 people in each class with the highest overal scores from the rounds progress to the final

Each venue will post up a thread with how they will be carrying out their qualifying i,e how many rounds they will hold and how many you will need to score in to qualify.

Safety requirements for the qualifying rounds will be issued by the venues organiser as its their insurance policy.

in most cases it will be your normal drift day requirements there is no manditory cages etc as there will be NO TWINNING.

In the new year we will email all entrants to find out what class best suits you. all of the entry criteria from above will be taken in to account when deciding what class you will go in to.

people will be found out if they portray them selves as being shit etc and then in their first qualifying round are hitting backwards entries, running the walls and are just MM off the cliping points will be moved up in to Class A

Anyone wishing to compete in the 2011 UK ODC Competition will have to be a registered member so sign up in the other thread.

    any questions are welcome

    All good then.

Well the Buxton details are on the Buxton thread, dates will be up as soon as I have them.

No twinning means the comp not the practice, don't think this is the end of your 6 car trains!

just to clarify a couple things...

pod is nearest to me (surrey) so i will be attending those events however IF i decide to pop along to for eg Buxton.. will my points count there aswell or can you only be judged at your initial chosen venue ie pod??

im guessing no cos that means i could attend like 12 drift days accumilate lots of points (if i was good)..

    just looking for some clarity?

    cheers

You can only qualify at one venue so your points only count there

Points only count at one Venue?

So i can't for instance do Norfolk, pod and Buxton as my three of six rounds ?
You ask any drifter, any real drifter. It's not the way you stand by your car, it's the way you cable tie your aero.

nope as different venues will be carrying out a different number of rounds and different formats

the point of this format only scoring at your local venue is so that people dont have to travel around the country

    keeps the costs down

    just to clear things up

if you wanna try and qualify at 2 venues you can i.e if you do the minimum rounds at buxton and then the the minimum at norfolk and only qualify at one then thats fine

but you score for one round at buxton will not be added to the one at norfolk

thats a bit unfair to people who cant travel to all venues tho isnt it?
for instance i will be going to pod as i cant travel to bux or norfolk, but this gives people who can travel more chance of qualifying than me

Not at all, its entirely aimed at people like you.
Stick to your local day to keep costs down, qualify there and go to the final.

If you wanted to try qualifying at other locations as well you would need to commit yourself to twice as many drift days as the points cant be transferred from one venue to another.

ODC is all about keeping it local and simple.

As mike said just compete at ur local venue etc if people cant qualify local and need to go else where as well then thats up to them at the end of the day

but if they can qualify locally chances are they wont qualify any where else
