    Dwyb odc

    Hiya

As most of you are aware, i am doing the majority of the judging for ODC and santa pod as Mr Nick is up to his eyes with the drift-racing.

I have been involved in judging the odc after travelling to Llandow last year to qualify 5 up and coming drivers and further judged the final with chunk at Malllory Park last year. (oh and i have hung out with a judge for a few years)

I am a FREQUENT visitor to drift venues around the uk and i get to experience every level of driving from the super-pro to the newbies alike and although i could do with practicing what i preach a bit more, i am in a good position to judge and im always fair and honest.

There are several drivers at pod at a very high standard, even though we have a large track, with crazy speeds and often some challenges with cone and track layout issues, drivers are pushing their limits and showing some professional skills.

I havent given anyone a particular criteria ie: clipping points etc, i just let the driver take what THEY think is the natural line (a must in drifting) and then judge the driver on consistency, skill, natural ability and of course show boating.

I am also there to help, and as a frequent pod driver, i will always give a bit of my personal advice, based on experience and almost sadness of knowing every bump, cone and line.

if you have any enquiries about previous scores/score cards/sunstrips etc feel free to EMAIL ME (as i dont get on DW too often) at belindachallis@btinternet.com and or come and see me before or after the briefing at pod and i will help however i can.

But for now here are the scores from yesterday at pod, and how i hope to continue with the scoring in the future.

    Belinda (B)

no worries, i will collate previous scores from people in time, and there are plenty of qualifying days remaining, for more seat time = higher scores

this is TBC,but IMO the A will be scoring consistently over 90 and the B's will be between 80 and 90..this is to be confirmed but from the many runs i have sat in with this seems to be a practical solution.

At the majority of judged runs at pod the judges are in the car with people and will try and push you to better your initial score,or we will look at your previous scores and ask you to do a specific line or approach and if you pull it off your score goes up,this is unique to pod and is due to our timeframe but works well ...also being in the car with the driver you get to see their style up close . jazz hands and ting

and - i think as far as setup goes from what i have seen pembrey has the best setup as they run actual rounds - just my opinion of course (pod has a better course though )

and pod doesnt run actual "rounds" you just have to attend 4 drift days (before final ) to equate a total score

i believe this to be correct - if not im sure someone will come along and correct me

were doing the same in the southwest and buxton are by holding rounds

but this system would not work for pod because of the amount of drivers there etc also they are able run DWYB more often than anywhere else

yer true - imo pod offers the best track for odc drivers (ive only seen vids of pembry etc) and is probably the most challenging as you are judged on the whole lot and not just a few bends...

Wow look at the scores iam gonna get so slayed at mallory (if I get there) its unreal. I have only managed a best score of 70 and I have no idea what else I can do lol since round 1 I have made my entries 3 times longer, been faster throughout the whole course, more angle, less correction and closer to clipping points. Yet my score gets lower and lower each time haha

I think I need to ask what iam doing wrong
