In my last little post I mentioned I had just picked up an awesome little MX5… I have had it about a week now and all is going well. I have already had 2 different people who I don’t know scream “Faggot” at me so I’m kind of getting used to it now. Anyway so far this week I have fitted a nice set of HSD coilovers and a Garage Vary style front lip! Everything else on the car is a bone stock UK 1.8. While fitting them to the car I came up with the name “The Titanic” because every bolt under the car was rusted together like it’s been living under the sea for the last 100 years but I managed to get everything off in the end and the front end is back to being adjustable. 😀
This is the car just after I picked it up:
And then last night after all the good stuff was fitted we snapped it on the drive!
I know the wheels are an embarrassment… Wheels, a Diff and a roll bar is all it’s having at the moment. It’s an MX-5, it doesn’t need any more when your hitting every corner at 110mph! What’s best is the keen but frugal 1.8, you can actually get some places for £10 of fuel, which is the right price!
As for work in the Factory for the last week or so I have been working on a bit of a show piece! Come and have a look if you see me about at Japfest 2 at the weekend. If your already following on Facebook then you will have seen it in many different stages but its finished now.
I also got asked to do some mirror covers – these are off a new BMW Mini painted in House of Kolor Violet with a blue flake over the top. They a getting a bit of a design on them but that will be a job for tomorrow!
