I know there will be billions of photos going up, but as I was filming with the 5D instead of photographing, I decided to get some faces after the event instead. After a spectacular fiery win by Trela (literally), moods in the pits were happy and tired. So here’sΒ something you never see much – the people!
Dan Joyce – a man who deserves a rest.
Mr Daniel Bridle from Motormavens – I have a better one but that’s got Linbergh colours, so it will wait till a colourful post.
Rod Chong, head honcho at Speedhunters was sporting a trilby and Ray Bans.
Dan Chapman wasn’t feeling in the zone today, but had a great time none the less. His PS13 will be for sale in a week!
Uncle Paz was judging and had to make some tough calls with fellow judges James Hudson and Andy Jaenen.
James Hudson is a ruthlessly sharp judge – spotting things others miss from a mile away.
Luke Fink moved back slightly as I took this – so my focus is crap here, but shows Luke was in great spirits and rocked it seriously hard in his PS13.
Ian Gratton was clearly enjoying himself too – getting some shots for Drifted.com.
Midway through the day, Paz was still contemplating things while Laura spent all day trying to snap that 4-wheels-off-the-ground shot. Phil Morrison was smoking.
Doug Harvey always with a smile, and his sweet 4 door R32!
Whilst Bolf (Driftworks Club organiser) and Jord from Drifted.com discussed the finer merits of photography.
Sorry, I forget your name every time!
Josh Allen was out filming with his 7D and his collection of old school lenses.
Julian Smith and Julian Smith. Or is it Walton? π Hey Ben? Huh? Huh? (You needed to have been at the ceremony).
Fuzzy was the man of the match – keeping the track running smoothly all day – and at night for that matter!
Ross Ianson from Speedhunters / Doristars and Daniel Bridle were clearly upto no good.
Bon had put in a solid mission to get his S14 ready in the absence of engines for either the Driftworks S15 and R32….
… only to be told he couldn’t compete against Dwaine McKeever. It’s a shame as Bon absolutely owned his ‘demo’ round against the 14 year old, despite being nearly 500bhp down (yes, 500bhp), and in his daily driver. There will be a more drift focused posts later in the week!
So that’s that! Hope you like the snaps – they were all taken on my Canon 5D MK2 with a 100mm F2 lens. π

great photo’s and a great post al. You sure do know how to use a 5d! I just need to learn how to use mine now!
Where’s The Winner???
On another post! π
I’ve got to say I had a hard time stifling my laughter when one of the security guys wouldn’t let Bon back in after dropping some stuff off with his car, he was drifting the bloody thing on track a few hours earlier and had left less than a minute ago.
Jord is better looking than Bolf. No-one is ever going to argue that.
And George was 550hp down on McCord and isnt an angry ginger. Top pics man.
I R FUGLY
These are ace!!! So looking forward to seeing your film! π
Thanks Al. That’s just what I needed, another reminder π
I look like a hobo who stole a camera LOL.
…but Ian, you always look like a hobo that’s been stealing things! π
Ridiculously awesome shots Al!
