Car Feature: Dan’s Datsun

Fan favourite Dan Chapman and his amazing Datsun.

I shot this feature a while back at Wembley but totally forgot to upload it and sort out the pictures! I borrowed a lovely little Sigma 10-20mm from Jordan Butters to shoot this, and it was certainly an experience to use such wide angle gear.

Anyway here are some pictures and info on Dan “Bigger than Jesus” Chapsman’s PS13:

Fully forged blue printed bottom end
Stock head with HKS cams and pulleys
Holset HX35 turbo on random manifold
Custom turbo back exhaust system
Nismo 740 injectors
Power fc de-jetro mapped by Protuner
Custom fmic setup

Exedy hyper single clutch and flywheel
RB25 gearbox conversion
R32 diff and shafts with Nismo GT pro differential
Full Driftworks pro handling kit with geomaster hubs

Rota grids 18×10 all round with federal RSR tyres
Full Origin Lab body kit with front and rear fenders
Full cage and all safety equipment to meet all regulations possible
Dan’s very own special colour supplied by RS bodyworks
And crazy random Touge Automotive stickers

The weather made this shoot particularly interesting, one minute it was lovely and sunny, and the next minute the sky was filled with rain and hatred. I’m sure you can see the contrast in some pictures between sunshine and lovely fluffy clouds and images such as the above.  I cut the shoot short due to this insane downpour.

The interior is sparse, but not totally unlivable and offers fairly decent comfort while still being somewhat ‘hardcore’. While the sound deadening and carpets are removed, Dan opted to keep the door cards and full dashboard.

The car generates 440bhp and 412lbft of torque @ 8200rpm which is quite impressive numbers for such a reliable SR.
It’s been the most proven reliable S-body in the UK and most of Europe over last few years.
He’s looking for £10 500 but open to offers and swaps plus cash his way.

Looks great in action as well as sat stationary!

More like ‘Ran the wall’.

Thanks for looking/reading.

  1. Cheers for the features boys and big thanks to ash for taking pics and kind words

also to anyone looking the car is normally lower than that but wembley has some ups and downs so car was raised for this event!! dony want people thinking i am weak haha

  2. Dan and his car are an amazing couple and its going to be sad to see them split up. I’ve now seen him run this car more than a hand full of times and my general impression is that its exactly what a s-chassis drift car should be, a weapon. Its reliability couple with the styling and lack of bs in the build, makes it a perfect specimen for either a beginner or pro looking to develop in one of the greatest S13’s out of the UK.

Good luck with the sale Dan.
