Car Spoilers

Fitting a car spoiler is definitely something worth considering if you’re looking for extra downforce and even improved fuel efficiency. Generally made from fibreglass, ABS plastic or carbon fibre, a spoiler’s design function is to ‘spoil’ unfavourable air movement across the body of your car at high speeds, most often referred to as drag or turbulence. Don’t be fooled though into thinking every spoiler on the market gives you added downforce. In fact, most spoilers that are fitted from the factory or some aftermarket options (with the odd exception) rarely provide any further aerodynamic benefit at all. However, on the other hand, racing cars use them to great effect by using highly adjustable spoilers to help cope with the demands of different track layouts or the driving style of a particular driver, with the overall goal being faster lap times.
