Just noted iv never made a build up here.. I was starting on the iPhone and cudnt be cheesed.. im going to copy and paste from JDMtas and just sum it all up etc. BASICALLY! I bought an MX5 UK Spec 1.6 When I had the s15 as a run about, thing was a piece of shit and ended up failing its MOT due rust shortly after I bought it.. When I got it... did shit to it.. Like headunit, gearknob, badges, import plates, recess, sleepy eye kit blah blah blah Looks 'cleanish' right? Wrong.. well.. i phoned up to find out the state and was asked to come to the garage to see for myself.. A tad hacked off with the previous owner tbfh as i was originally told the sils were fine, turns out he had just fiberglassed them all up.. anyways I'll let the pics do the talking haha yeh oh yeah dosnt look 'too' bad right? wrong.. Where the fiberglass had be removed.. lay ALL OF THIS CANCER! and under it.. I explained i dont need it back in a rush - Also that i didnt care what it looked like after as i'll be fully spraying it anyway. but yeah goes to show and i stand by it. never.. EVER........... EVER.. buy a UK car! Feked off to Japan for a month and a bit, stuck it in to get welded.. got a fresh MOT..
Bought this 'stuff' 4x100 > 4x114.3 Raybrig Lights Repaired my aero lip .. but its all changed again Picked this up thanks to Jay. New boot lid for the Al to custom build a MFC Goose Bill wing. Un fortunatly, I had a typical Dori Ten 'off' .. hit sheet ice and slide into a massive dirt bank.. was fucking nuts. Thankfully.. this was the only damage. Bent exhaust.. meh, Al fixed it with a huuuge breaker bar thanks man. Then this turned up.. So took the old fan off the rad and fitted to the new one obviously. then this turned up.......... which was broken.. and wouldnt fit..
then this arrived at my door.. Custom MFC Gaitor.. win. oh yeah - while I was fitting the rad etc I did this.. and painted.. then i spent the last 4 days in snow doing this... thanks to Lynch, Scotty, Kyle, TK, Al and Jay for helping me out with this mess.. So while I was busy in just over a foot and a half of snow a nice man turned up at my door with this... Wide View mirror and a HEAP of other random stuff... oh yeah, these showed face too LOVE THEM! SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO anyway.. basically, I tried to fit my HSDs and fucking my Lower Control arm.. so just bought another one as I couldnt be arsed pricking about with rust and breaking bolts every time I wanted to work on the car.. sure some will say its no issue.. but when its a daily driver and you have no decent place to work on a car, its a different story. So, Bought me a red import 1.8. Spec when I got it! TO THE SECOND CHAPTER!!! lol
Got me some JDM goodies the post id ordered up a while ago before I had the Red one. Fitted my chrome circles, and painted the needles green Got the sleepy kit fitted in about 32 seconds. Random inside shot of all my 'clutter' My Snap On car key magic!! Random blurry shot parked up at Tesco. I love this car!!
Few other bits and bobs I got -EBC Yellow Stuff Pads -EBC Discs -Power Steering Belt (Which snapped in seconds!!) -BRIDE + Rail -Takatas -Subaru STi Triple 52mm Dash Pod -Swoosh Oil Temp Gauge -Swoosh Water Temp Gauge -Swoosh Volt Gauge -Double Din Headunit -New Headlight -New Radiator -CUSCO Strut Bar -Remove Aircon (if i can be assed) -New Plates -Clutch Kit -Harness Bar ...... dun dun dun!
ANYWAY we needed to do ALOT of pricking about to get the full lock back for a start... Bumper was off .. and by the way, this has to possibly be the most fucking over engineered method of fitting a front bumper. Not impressed with the hmm.. I counted 6 bolts underneaf, about 8 in the front grill, 6 in each arch plus 2x screws, 2x support bars, 2x bolts up top and around 6 screws....... I then managed to shave a shed load of weight off of the bumper its self by removing ALL the crap inside it! THERE IS NO POINT MAZDA! JESUS! In turn.. its now held on with 2 cable ties either side.. and 2 up top. A hell of a lot better now! That was like a 2 hour job on its own.. thanks to Dan and Gav for helping me out on that one. SO.. Looks ok from here? Not from here... I also manged to dent several wings etc and lost alot of paint... I honestly couldnt care. FURTHER front bumper modification! looks good... dosnt work Then Al came to help the situation out with MORE rolling to as after Test Flight ALPHA.. I lost half my sidewall due to a fender liner bracket bending its self back out .. just like on the silvia. Massive thanks to Al Test Flight Bravo showed better results... but not perfect AND>....... after test flight Charlie to work.. its fucking hopeless... so, iv gone to the guys in the know.. CR.net.. these guys know low, so hopefully they can help me out with what to do.. the top of the tyre is rubbing on the inside of the roof of the arch.. AFTER I raised the back driver side up to match the pass.
now... this was AFTER id spent 2 hours taking the dash apart as I couldnt cut it in place, till dad got home to say "why didnt you use the dremel thing?"..........................? what friken dremel thing? From left to right, VOLT, Oil Temp, Water Temp Really chuffed though, this is a hooded pod from an STi Scoob need to do the sensor wire for the oil plate but thats easy You can change all the colours which is pretty neat. SO! Where are we... I went to France snowboarding and let my car at Al's Garage of Dreams.. Here were some pics he took Still alot to do but................... for now.. Only one thing I can say...... Al, Legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pretty friken chuffed! So thats where Iam as of today guys.. Got alot to do.. but getting there slowly but surely. Track session tonight at Knockhill.. Drift day on the 22nd.. then we have the remainder of this list to work on through.... Thanks guys! phew.. that was a speal!!!! Now back to work LMFAO!
You sure do love your stick on JDM tat don't you? . You need overfenders dude, flaring the wings up like umbrellas looks poor IMO. EDIT - Nevermind
Yup i just like tack and bright colours lol. Yeh need to work on the front archs still bit getting there.
They fit fine! http://www.lsxtv.com/forum/attachments/1604d1248795971-finished-under-hood-july-25-2009.jpg
have to agree with the front lip and fit the arches to the front and it will look awesome loving the wheel fitment tho
V8's are easy to fit. Been following this on Nutz. The replies there alone had made the thread pure entertainment, I do still look forward to the compelted article though mate . Oh and from experience, that front towing eye wont last two minutes when you actually use it
Looks really nice here, but some of the other stages look like your trying waaay too hard to follow every americanised "JDM" trend of the last couple of years all at once
