had my first time drifting properly yesterday in my mx5 (not a one corner job like in the old bmw). I must say, i still feel shakey and full of adrenaline right now! Did everyone else feel like this when they first started? (it wasn't on the streets either, it was at Teesside Autodrome... I got told off for it as i don't have a roll cage yet, but i think it was worth it!) So is this the right feeling towards wanting to drift REALLY badly? because if it is, now i see why you guys love this shit so much! Pictures can be posted when i get them emailed too me! shamefully no, Teesside isn't back... My mate was having a private testing session there and i was aloud out on track in the mx5. He wasn't bothered about me doing a little bit of drifting on my own.
Yep, that's pretty much why we go drifting. Wait untill you start looking for the "next" buzz - it pushes you to do some crazy things yo.
Yeah thats the buzz! You'll be hooked now and like bizzle said, it'll make you do some crazy shit. Like try and scrape your road car down a wall at a drift day you "only popped along to".

You have got it nailed mate. I spend half my life on track doing all kinds of grip driving experiences. But last Sunday drifting at Buxton I felt just as you describe. It must be something like the surfers feel catching that wave, or other extreme sportsmen feel. But that's the buzz, a special thing!
lmao the first time i got the full back corner drifted i spun at the very end. Shows how wet it was if i was able to do a full 540 xD another couple of inches and i would of felt the same way you did, with a tyre wall!
i love that buzz used to get it a lot on my bike but on a mates field theother day did my first full op lock and got that feeling back i love it
ye man!!! i remember getting that, the first few time a tried letting the back step out! nowadays im having to attempt near missing concrete walls whilst on the wand at 80 to get that shakey leg!! such a rush!
