The E34 battle tank can often be found brapping and jumping down the lanes Escort should be on it's wheels again in October hopefully.. Just in time for the rubbish weather!
Topi laaad - It's mint, beats the Gazebo! Tony - Not bad mate, hows things with you? Jap-si - Nah mate, not going to be able to make it Rallyman- Cheers mate, yeah it's a Compton 28'6" x 11'6" JKP- Yeah but it belonged to a lady down the road, was that ur bm? IamBen - Yeah Boi!
Good thanks mate, just fitting a cage before Japfest. What are you planning for the Escort now? Do you remember the name of that industrial estate in Leicester?
Sweet.. Weld in?? Escort is getting a shell freshen up, rear suspension mods, new CWP, and a few little tweaks. Engine needs some loving after sitting in the snow with no antifreeze in but it will be rebuilt standard so should be bullit proof. Bardon Cheers
Feck I'm sad enough to recognise a Compton garage Ed can you let me know how good/bad it is honestly, as I'm close to pulling the trigger on one. Any humidity/ moisture issues? PM if better than clagging your thread with dull garage talk LOL Cheers Rich
Nah, just a bolt-in Cusco dash dodger, I'm not as hardcore as you and I'm keeping the interior as I like the comfort Cool, my mate's just finished his 86 20v conversion and it sounds savage! I'd be interested to know what your doing to the suspension too, it's 5 linked already isn't it? Cheers mate, I'll be sure to check that out!
Well... since the blasting I sprayed the underside in zinc primer to control the rust invasion and have since been cutting, sweeping up sand, welding, cutting, sweeping up sand, welding etc.. I am slowly getting somewhere and plan to have the underside sorted by the end of the month. Heres some pics: LHS floor/chassis rail.. Rear chassis rails repaired/replaced, and notched for clearance... I got bored of fixing rusty bits so turned my attention to the new rear anti roll bar setup I have designed. It is supported via sealed roller bearings within a CDS tube which stiffens up the chassis rails considerably and will help support the panhard rod mount... The bearing housings mocked up in place.. Hole in boot floor.. Welded through floor, to chassis rails.. End plate/drop link/axle bracket schematic.. Laser cut parts..
