Hi, I'm Nikk, I live in New Zealand, have been lurking for a while now but thought I ought to sign up. I've got a slightly unusual choice of car for drifting, an E39A Mitsubishi Galant vr4 - it's had a locked centre diff and the front axles removed. The rest of the spec is pretty basic as I'm just beginner level. 16G evo turbo, 272º cams, 510cc injectors, Evo afm, safc, tial w/g, probably 300-350hp depending on boost level. modified Cusco coilovers 18x9 +30 work xd9's 235/40/18's (really need to swap these tyres for something abit narrower so I can go lower) Stripped interior, no a/c, heater, blower, etc - ready for full roll cage. Bucket seat locked centre diff, front axles removed, steel transfer case 2 way plate rear lsd
Cheers guys! Steering lock is terrible beyond belief but I'll need some 215/40's before I try and get some more (currently it juuuuuust rubs on the inside at full lock).
When it becomes a problem once my skills improve I'll look into doing something. fwd racks are about 38345983985729375 turns lock to lock though. Current rack is 2.7, but there's a factory option quick rack from a later model evo that can be made to fit that is 2.4 or so, and gives more lock.
ahhh ok. There is a russian guy on here thast converted an evo3 to rwd and he swapped the racks out and found it sooo much better so thought it could be a good option. always liked these galants
Wow its been nearly 5 years since I've seen your car mate, looks great with the xd9s instead of the usual chromies you see on VR4s in NZ.
