Well, I've had a go, went up to Buxton Raceway this afternoon, paid my tenner and then got my drivers briefing.

Massive thanks to John and Miles for their invaluable advice and for being friendly and welcoming. Cheers, much appreciated.

Okay, so there I am lined up ever so slightly terrified. There were loads of cars there with scars to prove how unforgiving the wall can be and believe me it wrecks your car.

So I had a tentative first outing, then got a ride with Matt who was just stunning. Made me feel like a complete novice (which I am really when it comes to drifting). Still I listened and learned and then ventured out a fair few more times and started to increase my speed and play around with the car a bit more. I also remembered to turn up the rear dampers, to 6/8. That all helped and I had a really good afternoon. Was good to finally meet Joe too. :)

Am thinking of doing a day at Oulton on 8th July (as I'm off anyway) and there is a lot more room, so hopefully Mark can have a go.

Must change those bloody JDM tyres though, as coming up the Cat and Fiddle in the rain, the car was just absolutely lethal.

Great stuff, reckon I could have some fun with this drifting lark. :)

    Thanks all.

    3 words:

    ODC. Drift. Train.

I think that's possibly the coolest thing i've ever seen up there.

Have got a few pics from the ODC, but not many others, was too busy out abusing my good tyres (that aren't so good anymores). :dw:

    Well what do I say.

A brilliant weekend. I wish I lived at Buxton Raceway with all of you and we did this every weekend.

On Saturday the Twin Drift battles were good fun. Nobody dead anyway, which is always a result when we plan these stunts at Buxton.

The 'Train queue' is brilliant. These weekends are the highlight of my life.

Sunday was excellent too. The standard of driving gets better and better from the regular guys, and the newcomers who turned up over the weekend did good too. It's good to see people coming for the first time and appreciating it for what it is and driving accordingly. (Lauren) Keep at it, you'll be flying soon!

Marshals, gate men, signing on people, passenger ride drivers, instructors, I don't know who to thank, but we couldn't do it without you. As I've said before, you know who you are.

ODC stuff will be posted in the ODC section.

GUTTED I couldn't compete today. So pissed off I can't tell you. But I'll fix it.

    No prisoners next time. Rich.
