Due to the high number of Alignment requests I keep getting through PM, I've decided to put something up here to save my sanity and poor fingers, which are wearing the letters off my keyboard These settings are only a guide and require you to do a bit of thinking for yourself Measurements are in degrees' and minutes" (not . of a degree!) For example - 1'30" is ONE DEGREE AND 30 MINUTES, NOT one point three degrees. Before alignment, check your tyre pressures! 32PSI front and 40PSI rear is a good start point. Traction links are set at standard length for these settings. If you over centre the steering too much, then reduce the castor angle. This applies to all settings. THESE SETTINGS ARE BASED ON THE S14 / S15 PLATFORM. They should work with S13 variants with a touch less castor for each. TOE SETTINGS ARE PER SIDE. STREET / DRIFT / DAILY FRONT camber 2'50" castor 7'30" toe 0'00" REAR camber 1'10" toe 0'00" RESULT: Positive steering feel Will not grab or snap Stable and consistent control MINIMAL STREET / DRIFT USE FRONT camber 2'50" castor 7'30" toe 0'05" OUT REAR camber 1'10" toe 0'10" IN RESULT Stable but reactive steering Strong rear end grip, will push you forwards Stable, but needs accurate driver imput JAPANESE STYLE DRIFT ONLY Using a trackday tire on the front (AD08, V70A, R888, RSR, etc... no not FK452, R1R) FRONT camber 3'20" castor 7'30" toe 0'15" OUT REAR camber 1'10" toe 0'10" IN RESULT Front end bites on drift Understeer without commitment to drift FAST direction change Stable, but needs accurate driver imput WESTERN STYLE DRIFT ONLY FRONT camber 3'20" castor 6'50" toe 0'05" OUT REAR camber 0'30" toe 0'10" IN RESULT Flat grip level, consistent to drive More driver steering imput required Much more grip out of corners Reduced aggression in car More power required DRIFT ONLY WITH GEOMASTERS THESE ARE THE SETTINGS FROM MY S14 & S15, this is the only experience I have playing with the Geomasters. The settings are Japanese style and require serious aggression at the wheel (Not that i have enough!). You NEED proper tyres on the front at least for this. I'm still getting a huge number of messages on here and on Facebook with regards to alignment. The reason for this thread is to try to help everyone, but I cannot give specific settings on an individual basis. Drift settings are complex and diverse, so if you want me to act as a consultant for you, then please drop me a PM and we can work the cost from there. Thanks, Mitto
This is very helpful. Ive been tweaking with your street setup for a while now and cant thank you enough..
nope. MR4TC = camber 6'00" castor 12'00" (8'00" c-hub) toe 0'40" kick up 5mm Spring Yokomo Medium/soft Oil #450 camber 3'35" toe 3.5 (INNER) 0.5 (OUTER) kick up 4mm spring Vertex soft oil #350 oh sorry, were you taking the piss?
Just found this thread as I'm going for alignment on Saturday, I'm going for a mix between what I'm used to already and the settings above. Thanks, let you know how I get on & how the car feels
Yes do, just a quick note, if you have the front wide then the rear or other way around would make difference.
Eh?! Going for alighnment on saturday too. Based on the geomaster settings but with like -5* front camber to fit my wheels lol. last time i tried 2* total toe out on the front with a smidge of toe in at the rear, soooo shit. Will have a go with what you've mentioned above see how it goes
going to try these settings in forza for just now since i wont be doing allignment for a long time keeping them saved, cheers mitto!
Using the street/daily/drift settings with a touch more front camber because of wheel fitment. Although looking at it i should pull it from just over 3 to 2*50. i'll be completely honest, I dont drift, never have, probs never will to any great extent. But the way this handles is awesome, if the back end decideds to power step out its soo predictable and if i give it a cheecky flick it breaks easy yet pullls back into shape just as effortlessly. Been giving the s14 some shite on my local lanes and its so much better than when it was on the KYB/Eibachs (HSD now) Cant wait to get to Blyton for track time at SXOC Weekender and try it there
I take it you know he means adjustable ones, right? I doubt John would consider driving without traction arms. I suppose stranger things have happened up Buxton way though
I have a S-body (s14) but since Ive added +25mm to the lower arm I think I cant get close to 2degrees 50minutes camber but we will see will this affect the minimal street/Drift use if the end results will be -3 or even -3.5camber upfront? Car has geomasters and DW kinked GTR tensionrods up front, no geomasters on the back, minimal street use will occure (10% of the time) Scrap tires 95% of the time on the back and something like cheap federal 595s up front. Shit whitelite ARB front and rear 325whp Something like this FRONT camber 3'30" castor 7'30" toe 0'05" OUT REAR camber 1'10" toe 0'10" IN
