I remember learning to drift at Brum Wheels (for £20 for a solid hour of 'testing') about 6 months after Ken Nomura had been there, and not knowing who the fuck he was.
i remember looking at andys first build thread, next 2 google searchs were. 2 tone 200sx Ps13 silva then my life was over. *edit ive always regretted lurking for 2/3 years while i was at uni and not signing up - i feel like my Joined date is underage.
Mitch's Playground! i also remember when getting a set of coilovers would be £1200, getting a diff would be £1000 and no one but option knew how to fit it, aftermarket aero was something that came on an imported car and nothing else.. oh, and i remember when its was 210 yen to the pound.... should have brought a lot more cars over!!
I remember Stiggy burning a hole in the track after a monster burnout at Wildtrax (that right?) , what a random little track! Yeager and his uber-pink S13 Licensing for UKD1 at Silverstone car park - consisted of a big donut and figure of eight Kiki and his S13 - cool bastard (UKD1) First drift day at Teesside back in '04 Big X and GT Battle Terry/Eurodrift! lol Fun times
When Nightspirit was the tag under the Brum originators avatars. The Corolla brotherhood were still posting.
I remember this too, it was before I started organising drift practice days and competitions for most of the people on this forum
Oh, and who's bedroom was it at the Rose and crown that was completely rebuilt in the field outside the hotel? Toilet and all. I remember someone fighting with sheep to get their underwear and toilet roll back.
Massive LMAO!!!!!"Dude she's got a camel toe!"....."Dude that aint a camel toe,its an elephant toe!" @ initial j......please dont mention that z3.It's taken a decade of rehab to make me forget! And the overpriced skyline made it home from magne cours on five cylinders!
it was flik, sxsi and lil bens room lozza, cookie, me and a few others decided it was the best thing to do that was after drinking the rose and crown dry of Jd, vodka and stella then gate crashing the wine meeting they were having in the dining room theres a video of it somewhere
I remember my brother having soo many Sunbeams I lost count.... never paid over £150 for them (apart from the expensive stage rally preped Ti at £400) and being a passenger as he and a mate did round abouts in the town centre! LOL Also remember when I thought drifting was a fad that would pass prety quick so didn't bother with it.... and DW was an unknown site! now look what's happend!
I remember the first time someone linked the whole track in a comp at silverstone (UKD1 i think). It was the old layout from under the bridge and the car was a nearly standard S14a. I have it on video somewhere. The crowd went mad. I say crowd, about 17 people went mad.
Oooh, theres another one - Shockmodels. Probably proper ruffians, but at the time WAY-HEY!! going back before drifting, I still remember the days when you couldnt give a Corolla GT away but S13's were £20K cars
a ha i remember having money in my bank account and a ropey s14a that worked all the time and lydd and mega s1 sessions lol ive just seen that video, i forgot all about that, ill get you mikeyyyy
to be fair, you and flik did throw my bed over the 8 foot hedge in to the field full of cow shit hahahahahah woke up the next morning seeing a skinny ass dutch dude in tighty whiteys air hump some cows then dry hump the shit out of me
I remember Teeside then massively going out on the smash in Zanzibar after. I remember this one with the Irish lot after Teeside. Drift racers smash TV in hotel rampage (From The Northern Echo) Literally all night the justification to countless really really dodgy (but usually funny as) things was "So what, your Gard haven't got guns" On different nights up there I remember Buttsy and Declan (Pimms) having a dance-off, and Tony Green (remember him? NZ Rally Driver bloke who used to drive for, err, someone, forget now) and other long gone people all there getting ruined. I miss Zanzibar actually, the biggest sticky floored shithole in the world, but amazing fun, big, n cheap drink too. You could go in there dressed like a tramp n look like a movie star compared to everyone else, lol.
Me too. And him dressing up as Avid Merrion for the magazine feature. I never thought I would meet that man. I now wish I hadn't..
