Hi Guys, just had my S13 aligned to the "MINIMAL STREET / DRIFT USE" settings as a starting point.
I've got Parts shop max knuckles on the front, S13 subframe on the rear with 18" wheels, ET-9 front +24 rear with 35mm spacers and the car is great!
initial turn in is good, but with more steering angle the car understeers without trying to drift or weight transfr to the front.
transitions are snappy and quick, but very controlable and the angle you can hold is great on power!
It feels similar to how it did on stock setup lowered but more snappy which is great!
I can drift hands off on the throttle so I am using steering mid corner to adjust the line not havin to force the car to maintain a drift etc. and I can throw the car in to initiate with big angle, but still struggling to get the speeds up to really push this testing at lydden.

Thanks to Mitto, and hope this may help anyone.

    Brad =)

what Kam said... because you have made the car so wide you've changed the roll, try the front camber around 3'20"

It will understeer if you don't launch it into a drift hard at that width.

That was my thinking but I actually found I quite like it like this whilst I'm getting used to the new power and chassis.
By the car understeering without commitment and large steering inputs is forcing me to focus more on the weight transfer and its doing basically what I thought it would do. I just thought it would help people know what it feels like.
I'm going to try it with RSR's on the front next to see how it feels and try get some pics of it on full lock during initiation and power on drifting to see how the wheels are behaving before I increase the front track slightly to gain the extra camber and improve the clearance for rsr's
Thanks for the feedback on it. I really like this thread and the alignments you have put up. I'm going to play with the settings and try the others to see how it feels also.

How do setups vary with different engine.. i.e. s14a with rb25? or does it not?
Has anyone tried MINIMAL STREET / DRIFT USE

    FRONT
    camber 2'50"
    castor 7'30"
    toe 0'05" OUT

    REAR
    camber 1'10"
    toe 0'10" IN

S-Bodies with RB engines do not exist to me.
R-body set-up's... R32 I got some "ok" ones. The Silvia stuff I've put a lot of time into to get just right.

I don't see why the suspension setup would vary with a different engine. As in the settings above wouldn't vary. Spring rates would obviously but I don't see caster, camber and toe being affected.

Course its effected , the balance of the steering wheels and tyres are different , the contact patch of the tyre will react differently.

Mitch you are a legend helpd me get my set up.

    BUT

My set up is geos 2 all round running 9j wheels on a s13 with a sr20 motor. (somtimes may use my 11js on rear if i have tyers)
Now driftworks claim the rear geos give alot of trackion which really i dont want as Im running a standard sr20 motor. Do you recon it will let loose with your set up youve given me? or grip to much causing me to clutch kitck and use of hydro more?

    cheers dude

Pick the set-up that matches your car... tune grip with tyre pressure :)

    250bhp, Geos, same settings as posted. 225/40/18 (32psi) + 235/40/18 (40psi)

Running clarkeys knuckles, moved rack 15mm and extended arms 25mm. 430hp

    Was running these settings.
    F
    Camber 6deg
    toe 0
    castor 6deg

    R
    toe 0
    camber 1.5 deg

The car felt great to drift but like ass on the road at speed. Steering felt unresponsive and not sharp when blast down the roads.

I knocked all the camber off, but can only get a lowest of around 3.5-4 deg so will run that. But what about caster and toe?

^^^ Your settings are stupid, no wonder your car handles like junk.

    "MINIMAL STREET / DRIFT USE

    FRONT
    camber 2'50"
    castor 7'30"
    toe 0'05" OUT

    REAR
    camber 1'10"
    toe 0'10" IN

    RESULT

    Stable but reactive steering
Strong rear end grip, will push you forwards
Stable, but needs accurate driver imput"

I suggest using that with as close to that camber as possible and decent front tyres, like AD08s or RSRs. I do not mean Toyo R1Rs or Falken FK452s...

If you use something "close" to my settings, they aren't my settings!

I'm running the following after 2 drift days I can give some feedback...

    FRONT
    camber 3'30"
    castor 7'30"
    toe 0'00"

    REAR
    camber 1'30"
    toe 0'00"

With 17x9 215/40 FK452's on the front. Stock knuckles.

Car handles great, snappy transitions and feels like I have quite a bit of grip. Seems to drift quite fast, but needs driver input a lot to keep it on the right track. Doesn't feel entirely stable all the time, but it is good fun. Also appears I have more lock than I did previously :)

Use the same settings I just posted... Same handling but more predictable, stable and a bit faster too.
