Hi, Finaly got myself a drifter.. Went down the BM route due to the cheepenss as i wanted to keep my 1st drift car wayy under 1k.. So got this heap that needed some love. Mods.. Welded Diff. Coilovers (need to refit the fronts) K&N air filter (adds like 80bhp ) ive got sum Motorsport 17" wheels for it but there not on atm. also got 2 sets of skid wheels ect. Plans.. New front bumper (got a M3 one for it) New grill.. All round tidy up abit (not that botherd tbh) Got scooby buckets to fit with harneses. some form of exhaust New steating rack Maby a piggy back ecu. Will see some of you on the 18th at Lydden Hill for my 1st drift day... might hav a few bets of what wall i end up in
Welcome, you'll be fine at Lydden, theres only 1 wall you could go into and thats after the hairpin where you're not going quick enough. for an ECU look at The End Tuning, had great results with mine. Also make sure you look after it cooling wise as it will overheat
How could i improve the cooling?? get another eletric fan and put it the other side of the rad?? Depends how much your after and were you are?
try mod the viscous so its on permanent also i have a scorpian exhaust here on my bmw that looks like its going to get scrapped so let me know if your interested. i have a m3 rear bumper aswell plus the whole car so yer let me know if you want anything.
you want to change the water pump impeller from a plastic to a metal one. Mine runs this, an AC rad (its a bit bigger) and electric fans for cooling. done two drift days in it so far and no sign of it overheating where ive seen other overheat. Also a nice cheap mod is camber shims for the front, they give you a fair bit of camber for very little time/effort/money and make a huge difference
also those 15's that jaimies offering are a good job if you want to run lock spacers. Shit offset wheels tend to rub the inner chassis, these are fairly low
Have you got a link to that impeller ?? and ill also get an eletric fan kit also i have looked at them camber kits, so will they help??
I don't im afraid mate, come on my car. Camber kits are definately worth it, gave me so much more turn in and a lot less understeer. Theres a guy called gibson on here that sells them. All you need are some longer bolts and washers, and he sells the right ones
im in leighton buzzard mate near milton keynes can take the whole car for £250 just want rid of it now need to free up space and money for my s14 build
Ok will check that and look into them kits and dont realy want the full car mate thanks for the offer but ill have no were to put it as i dont have my yard anymore. Quick edit..... ill get one of these.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/10-UNIVER...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35bc8015e2
ive still got a few parts from my old 328, if your interested drop me a pm.. seems like everyones sell you stuff on this build thread personally dont bother painting your rocker cover either, dont really need to as it wont give any gains
yeah but thats cus i was earning stupidly high amounts of money so i could afford to throw hundreds of pounds away
The guy at halfords said ill gain about 7bhp??? ((kidding btw, altho most of the "boi's" that drive round here will most likely swear its true haha))
Right well thanks to Chidley the new stearing rack is sorted.. Also going to de-spoiler it as i really dont like it ahaha and get my new bumper and grill this weekend and have a nice time workin on the slut
