right guys dont get this one mixed up with the vvt rattle because i replaced a brand new vvt sprocket few months back and this one is a similar noise but sounds more like a knocking noise than a rattle it comes between 2k to 4k rpm and its coming from the top on the engine close to the exhaust manifold.. what could it be?

If you can get a video uploaded on to here its normally quite easy to hear if its big end.

How long have you had the rattle for?

iv known blown exhaust manifold gaskets to make strange noises might be worth a look, but the bottom end sounds the best bet

Mine sounded abit like that when the powersteering pump was dying and 3 people told me it sounded like bottom end, it might not be the powersteering pump but it's easier to sort than the bottom end so probably worth a check

Did yours sound like when steering aswell? Or just like mine when you accelarate and rev the engine?

i'd put money on that being the bottom end bearings.

Just keeping the revs low driving short distances to get to work, but ordered the Conrod bearings will change it and see what happens from there

Thats not going to help. You'll need some machine work at least after that, just throwing new bearings in will result in more of the same.
