Seriously I'd just push for your money back.. After all proper companies don't need you to pay upfront for anything. It's like charging someone for a pint of beer before the pints been pulled.... Then it turns out the pumps actually broken anyway.
the best thing to do with that manifold is either throw it through gunnis window or leave it out for the scrap men. bin the design too.
shit man! thats a joke! after all that time waiting! that man needs to return your money and let you start from scratch with someone who knows what they are doing! check these guys out, they do manifolds for f1/wrc etc http://www.goodfabs.com/gallery.aspx good luck getting it sorted, cant believe people charge money for this sort of tat!
its a shame gunni didnt out source the manifold to a propper fabricator to build as he is a clever guy. the majority of the people commenting wouldnt even no where to start in building a manifold so can climb down of their soap boxes.
Gaz you'd think so. Andeep is in the same situation his manifold wasnt as bad as mine but still needed rebuilding. Even after being fixed by Gunni's 'professional welder' it had about 8 holes in it so wasnt usable. Leeg i think we streched 235s on the rear. the wheel is 10inch wide. Maybe PhilE30 can comment as he has the wheels at the moment.
Saw you had commented on another thread and saw your sig...325i turbo so off I went and used the search button and found your build thread. Was really intrigued to find out about a turbo conversion on a 325i as I have one and was thinking has it been done and if so would like to see how... then as I got to the last few pages my heart actually sank. I'd want a full refund, no ifs not buts.
There is another thread on here of a red car with an m50 with a big snail on it. Fairly recently too. Go have a look there.
Cheers bolf that is the next step if his second attempt isnt short of a work of art. He already has a claim against him from Andeep.
Right guys sorry its taken so long to update this but i've been having too much fun in the GT86. So after the debacle with the manifold i sent it back to Gunni to be repaired. They fixed the issues, polished it up and pressure tested up to 5 bar including under water. Finished result was this:- Once back it was fitted but there was an immediate problem. The turbo was hitting the steering rack. I decided to cut my losses rather than send it back to Gunni to identify the issue and repair it again. The project was taken over by Thomas Zurawski and Martin Richards. I went down to see them and was extremely confident that it would get done right this time. New Manifold looks a million times better. Collector:- This is what proper welding looks like Problems with the HX35 and not finding a suitable location for it lead to us changing it for a GT3076 Manifold Design and Jig Welded up Currently waiting on flanges to come in so it can be finished then its all bolt on parts+ mapping and we're there
HX35 is still for sale. its up for £300 - http://www.driftworks.com/forum/parts-sale-private-sales/188328-hx35-turbo.html
Ok cool, same price I paid for mine. Cheers! I hope to get Thomas to make me a manifold when I can afford one too!
i was damnnn that "new" manifold from gstuning looks shit, but i wont say a thing becasue he's happy with it. But tou arent't xD New one looks 10 times better, and should work better shame about the holset not fitting. Shame its such a bitch to get a decent turbo location/manifold for RHD bmw's!
haha yeah the new manifold is awesome. The HX35 would have meant a lot more fabrication and it just made more sense to go with a different turbo. People told me not to attempt a turbo conversion but i hate being told no (favourite phrase of a rapist). It will be finished soon and it will get driven in anger. The old manifold is for sale if anyone wants to fit in on theirs.
Love seeing this project up there with the new posts Can't wait to see it go dude. Makes me want boost more and more. I've got a feeling mine would be a budget, bodged, homebrew version but boost all the same hahaha
