Had alota fun..... from the stands haha and I think evey1 who was out there did gr8, Yes some people it looked like there 1st drift day but end of the day its just abit of seat time for them.. well done to the peeps who got there licenses see you lot on the 1st Keep Drifting fun
sweeps, lets be honest, the people that where there have no clue who i am, so me bowlin upto them to advise them would go down like a sack of shit tbh, i was listening to people watching saying people that where bloody awful where "one run away from a pro license", and tbh i dont need to put myself in shit because i am ment to know better!! i love drifting and i advise ALL THE TIME mate but to people that want to gain a better understanding, and frankly ALOT of people there on sat where fucking dreaming and prevented far better drivers from taking a shot at a license and tbh seat time for the money was pants compared to an open pitlane day, and yeah ur right the pressure etc is something you can only gain from these events but atleast know that on the day you can cobble a friggin lap together!!! for me FAR t many people gettinmg into drifting to brag, get themselfs a name!! and dont pretend this aint true mate. how many people can say they drifted and had practise and time in car setup for 18+months before they thought they wanted to push themselfs to the next level...... im not telling people what they can and cannot do and i sure as hell want people to learn and be the best they can be and have FUN but man im just telling it how i saw it ps im not knocking BDC like sooooo many people assume i do (which does not happen) peace
I see what your saying Dan but like I said, when this balding ginger bloke came and offered me some advice (Bon) I didn't have a clue who he was until being told afterwards. Spoke volumes to me to think that a top level driver would and did take the time out to offer me some advice. Never in ANY form of Motorsport I've been involved with has that happened before, as most know I'm a little older than you whipper snappers lol so I've been around. Maybe there were people who were held back from coming along but hey, it's not like they didn't know about it in good time. There is always less track time than an open pit but most people will be aware of that, hence the email stating so. It did say in the announcement that it would be run like a comp day so people knew what to expect. My gripe is mainly that despite people who chose to come alone either to get track time if they're local, to see how a licensing day works or as some to achieve a licence to compete next year, they are subject to what for some can be humiliation. I've had a few pm's and messages from drivers who were there on the day thanking me for my previous posts, so clearly a few take to heart what others say. I think you under estimate the number of people who know who are Dan, a lot look up to you as a driver which they should because we all know you a little bit of talent lol Yeah some people come into it for bragging rights but hey, we are all show offs, that's why we do it. We've all seen newbies come on here and ask questions that we've seen before, we know what happens, I don't need to explain. But that will put some people off coming back here, Jack said about people remembering the negatives, doesn't mean to say you have to do the same. Read the Sun, Sport or Hello magazine if you want that shit. Just maybe, and I've seen it happen, that word of encouragement from someone like yourself, drivers who are 'of a reasonable standard' or even Jack can help a driver go from struggling to ok with some simple advice. What they would remember is not that they struggled all day and sucked and got slammed for it, but the fact that 'a driver' (insert name here) came over and told me to do this and it helped me link the track/nail the entry/stopped me spinning etc etc. I've done it to drivers, it gives you a buzz to see them improve from simple words of advice, ask Perry lol Surely you can see what a difference that 'could' make to someone's confidence and attitude? It did for me with Bon all those years ago. Peace/respect POW! X
Well said that man.... I came up with Nev F1 Moto, Dan who got he's pro license on the day and a lot of other friends. I know for one I can link this track but then I'm used to driving my old 350bhp r33. In short the 33 was costing me way to much money to fix all the time so I decided to break it and buy the BM. License day was booked when I had the liner but by time the day came around I was forced to drive a under powered car with the clutch slipping in 3rd gear ever time I went for the top corner :/ I'm gutted I didn't get a license in a way but at the same time it was one of the best days I'v had in over 5 months... just having a car that did totally break on a drift day was good enough I would love to compete one day but I'm not going to cry over it and I honestly don't believe I took a place away from someone else wanting to gain there license. I was driving the BM with orange bit's by the way.. Start you banter here.. As for Advice Sweeps, Nev is never short of that lol Do me a favour? Call and tell him he is a fanny for being away from the game for so long. 2 years now :O
Shame Bon didn't put his 'Build a car in a week' Spell over you all those years ago eh sweeps! maybe... just maybe then it wouldnt have taken you so long to build that Ae86..... xxxx
