Cheers dude, lots to do yet... You and both fella... I know this project has been quiet for a while but here is why, she has been away getting fitted with these puppies. Brembo 8pot Calipers biting down on a 355mm disk running a 33mm spacer to accomodate some Work Meister 18 x 11JJ +10 Offset for the Team Chihuahua SRX8, thanks to Robbie at www.TDP.ie - Championship Winning Mapping
So made the trip up to Gripfab the weekend to drop off the Brides, Takata Harness's, Dash, Sparco snap off boss kit and Sparco Wheel. First time I've seen the car since the start of August, she is looking a little sorry for herself with no engine and box but fingers crossed I'll have her back in early December with only the exterior to finish
Nice work dude! Really gona be a sick ride .....Just a small question. What have you done about the steering rack position? Is it in the same place? And how easy is it to get good lock from the Rex?
Ya I have a KP61 and RX7 as well mate. Haven't looked at lock yet but we have fitted an RX7 rack and moved it slighly forward. Its been a long time since I had an update on the RX8, with that I took a spin up to Gripfab yesterday to deliver some parts and sort out a plan for getting the project moving again. Of course the first thing was to roll her into the workshop and get the rear wheels on to see what kind of a challenge lay ahead. Another look at the monster calipers : They don't stick out that much : Brendan helping to lower the car to give up an idea of where it will sit She is going to look evil : A good shot of the v-mount, fans yet to be fitted : Bottles for the pedal box located in with the wiper motor : Fitted the bonnet to see if the vents will work with the mounting of everythng : Cage looking bad ass : The Equips vrs the Works, dropped them up for William : Planning on cutting away the black section on the rear of the bumper : And next job is to go up and blow out the arches, tubbing the rears for a full day before she gets prepped to go to the bodyshop :
Cheers fella... Way cooler on here ! So the coilovers are fitted and dumped, now I know the true challenge ahead :
Gonna chop the original arches and go from there... Be a while yet... Thanks fella... Just gonna wait for the engine to go pop then I'll worry about the internals...
Was up in Gripfab today delivering an RB25 so decided to bring up the front bumper and skirts to get an idea what she will look like, not bad at all, still needs to be chopped and widened but getting there : Should have some bigger updates soon though like wiring
Dude! This thing is looking sooo badass. It's gonna look real evil with the widebody. Im looking forward to the end result.
Loving the build ... lots of pennies being spent by the looks of it too ;-) Keep with the pictures coming !!
Me too, just another few bob to go... Enough now mate but all worth it... I was actually looking at 18 x 15JJ mate but couldn't live with the 1.8k per wheel before shipping and tire... Small Update : The car is currently being lined up for wiring and getting bits ready so ordered a few bits today Syntec Fuel Pressure Regulator Two 11"inch Fans for the V-Mount Boost Gauge Water Temp Gauge Oil Pressure Gauge Oil Temperature Gauge Fuel Pressure Gauge All gauges are Prosport, can't afford all Defi's atm But they will work just fine
