I had a diff welded similar to yours but looked like more than just points and i broke it with a 2.0 engine in notime. If you want something to hold "forever" you need to weld it like an animal: satellites to the case, teeth properly and then add a think plate in the middle and weld the hell out of that one to and same on the other side. For oil you can use spit if you want, dont go with expensive LSD oils or anything decent... just "some oil". I still wonder if it isnt possible to fabricate 2 weird 4 sided sprockets to fit exactly in the middle like lego and then chamfer-weld the hell out of it
There's loads of pics on google if u search. Do a bit of researching before you start and see the ones with 5mm plates and welding done on the inner case Don't buy a 2nd one... just open the one u have and complete the job because you didn't ruin it but if it breaks (and it will) it wont be usable anymore. Even better is to go to a local veteran drifter to weld it for you since they broke so many in the past years that they became experts in welding them.
Like this. I use 5-8mm plate in mine. This was the first one I ever did and AFAIK it's still going strong.
That is never gonna break, doing FBS at Santa pod on the 24th march long way to the pod for my diff to go.
Just tried my camber gauge and adjusted the top mounts, I wanted to set it at 2.5 neg but its maxed at 5 deg
Got a few bits done today sick speed quick realise buckles fitted so I can whip the front bumper off. And some hids as e36 lights are shockingly bad. Fuel topia barrel sprint at Santa pod has been called off so I'm going to head over to Birmingham wheels on Sunday for my first taste of drifting, can't wait. Hope it comes back looking the same haha Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I did my first drift day at Buxton last week and lived it. Hard place for a beginner and had a close miss with the wall. The car was far better than me, i can't wait to get it out again this Sunday at Santa pod.
I did fuel topia barrel sprint at Santa pod on Sunday and loved it. The car is amazing cant wait for next time here's a shit quality vid
Got a it done today adjustable rear camber arms. Then fitted new brake lines from the hydro to braided lines into the caliper. Just waiting for a 0.625 willwood brake cylinder to turn up then ill flush it all and put in some 5.1 fluid. Poly bushed the rear antiroll bar need to do the trailing arms next. Need to measure up for an electric fan as I struggled to keep the temp down on Sunday.
