So i have been on here a while now and not really done much so i thought it was time to start and finish a proper build thread....

With the intention of building a track and drift car to also be used on the road, i managed to find an NA on the bay so 200 miles later we came home with a 1994 1.8 NA fitted with Coilovers, Roll Rar, JDM Steering Wheel, Spare Wheels and Drive shafts, Welded Diff, K&N Air Filter and full Body Kit....

Not too shabby, although i'm not a huge fan of the Body Kit or the 17" Wheels.
The drive home was ok, although the Handbrake was none existant and there seemed to be a heatsheild catching on the near-side rear disc.

So eventually got to work on the handbrake which had'nt been adjusted properly since having the rear pads changed...

Also the Coilovers had been lowered to the point where there was no travel in the struts and also the catching noise was the spring rubbing on the driveshaft!

Soo after this was all sorted out, it was time to get some more rubber for the other standard wheels...

    Looks alot better i think.

I also Got to work with the Sleepy eye mod...

... and pink tow hoop for the rear end.

After not being too happy with the bodykit, i decided it was time to get it off and get the standard replacements back on...

Bumpers need to be painted the correct colour but in the light you cant really tell

Also thought it was time to get some stickers, after all, no drift car is complete without some sticker bombing!!!

Also treated her to a Turbozilla, new Gear Knob and Gaitor and Handbrake Gaitor...

Sticker bombing is'nt everyones taste, but i dig it...

Anyways, time to get down to some proper work.

I will be going for a full suspension overhaul so time to crack on with it!

Also picked a full set of bushes up off the net, not any super brand but they seem to do the job in the US on the Muscle cars so hey ho!

Also managed to score some old stock from our warehouse for better than half price, including Cusco front and rear Sway-Bars ARP Main Studs and a set of HKS braided brake lines, happy days!!!

Good job really, the suspension and chassis has seen better days...

    Tadaaa!

Gave the bay a good scrub too whilst i can get in there.

Lack of storage and work space means the lil shed in my garden is now a workshop/man cave lol

So, now was time for me to clean the head...

... and lap the valves in, well most of them lol

    Before and after valve lappage...

I decided to modify the rocker cover so i will be running exposed belts for easier access and also cos i like the look lol, not to mention the fact that the cambelt covers were all cracked and ruined

    Also threw down some paint

    Cams and gears back on..

Now the winter is starting to set in i want to get the rear suspension finished so i can spend the remaining winter months in a nice warm shed working on the engine.

As you can see, there is frost on the car and some hot pink wheels! Kinda like it but not sure if they will stay yet.

    Touge goodness...

So with the weather being crap lately i have'nt done much with the build.
Fooling around in the snow at the local sprint track seemed like a good way to pass the time with a few mates though....

Yes that is me being dragged by my mates NA in the coldness

On the plus side i have stripped the rest of the block down..

I have taken everything out of the block that i can to make way for some paint, Crank, pistons, Oil jets etc...

And thats it for now, next step will be to remove the old core plugs and throw down some paint

Block is now painted and back on its stand, all gasket surfaces have be cleaned and we are now ready for a rebuild

    ARP Mains fitted

Dropped the head on to get an idea of how its gonna look

Cleaned up the rear hubs and drive shafts, Will be on the deck pronto.

    Before and after clean up;

Can't believe how crusty the parts are, but i suppose thats what you get with a 19 year old car...!

Fitted the rear suspension, brakes and also threw down a coat of Waxoyl too.

HKS Brake lines fitted along with the polybushes...

Cusco Sway bar also bolted up

Welding, hardtop and diff to sort now, dont like running a welded diff so may have to look into a KAAZ 2 way unit from work...

Got bored of the tatty fender, decided to do something different, well copied it from a PS13 in the US, think it was a low brain drifters car...

Removed, cleaned and then painted up, all with a rattle can...

    Chucked the vinyl on...

    Looks ace imo!

Just black spray, car is under a cover so added protection, sounds daft but the paint comes off quite easily when rubbed

Nice work with the engine/struts etc. I'm going out on a limb here, and say that I prefer the car with the kit on. Not a massive fan of sticker bombing either, but it's your car so who cares!

Don't understand the spraying of the discs though.

Cheers dude, the car is outside, rather than let the discs rust over and get fubar'd big time i have just dusted them over with a rattle can. Purely for preservation of the disc whilst its not being used, car hasnt been driven for ages and prob wont be for another year. Will save me buying new discs lol
