Did he not offer the full sale price back and you give the car back? Cant see you getting any better than that even if you take the legal route. Maybe see if he will refund some money back, may make the deal a little sweeter still a good spec car. Also could you not feel the car was underpowered when driving it? If you was unsure you could have always popped into a dyno to get it check or even made an agreement with him before parting with any money if you was unsure. I know Perfect Touch is local-ish or even the place near Stansted Airport in Birchanger has a Dyno you could have put it on. Tony

I'd be worried if the internals spec was anywhere near as high claimed considering how much BS the power was, that'd be the issue for me. Esp as while spool up is about the same as my 470bhp/400lbft one on stock head and cams, comparing graphs power peaks lower than mine and torque drops off way sooner. Cams and headwork should do the opposite, unless the turbo is a massive restriction to engine spec which is just a badly specced setup. God knows. Not ideal. Didn't it also feel a bit badly mapped or jerky like a miss or something? Or am I imagining that bit.
any way to contact the company who did the engine get the chassis no and see if and what work was carried out on it ?
Plugs needed a clean and regap which sorted the slight miss it kept having after 250miles, maf is too close to turbo causing stall under load in 4th and 5th. I'm hoping for some light at the end of this tunnel, or 100bhp behind the seat....... - - - Updated - - - 1.4 bar J mate.

Surely mb would have given him an estimate on power? Most good tuners have a grounded opinion from the bum dyno.
man thats annoying. for that boost thats bloody low :/ my rb20 with a td05 (off an evo) gtr injectors and a map made 389 with a completely stock engine. its not all about figures obviously but thats obvious reason to assume something may not be right with claimed spec
