Hi guys seen this on a couple of other forums and tends to bring some intresting characters to the front what do you do when you aren't drifting or working on your car I'll kick things off I'm a full time student studying engineering and ultimately want to build drift, rally and track day cars but not being employed means that's along way off at the minute I'm just saving to buy a drift car but its slow going what do you lot do
Studied Motorsport design and engineering, graduated last year and now I am a design/development engineer for a company making Turbo oil feeds/drains/coolant feeds and exhaust flexi's for OEM's like Jag/Land Rover, Ford, PSA, Honda etc
I am an machinist/instrument maker at Oxford university. I did a tool makers apprenticeship when i left school 16 years ago. Started working for the university 11 years ago i now run my own teaching workshop teaching PHD students academics and Staff how to use mills lathes and all that stuff. As well as designing and fixing components for experiments. I worked as part of a team that built the inner detector for the atlas experiment in CERN (the big bang experiment) And actualy got to help install it and spent most of a month 100m underground.
I'm a personal trainer and boxing coach, got level 3's in sports coaching, GP referral exercise, outdoor training, circuits, spinning etc. Was in the army for 6 years prior to this as a level 2 fitness instructor, so yeah.. sports.
I'm sat here wondering how someone who is a full time student doesn't know when to use a full stop or question mark? Ian.
I may be a full time student but i have very poor English skills. i have never been very good at English. Note i put full stops in that just for you.
Another pretty awesome job, what was the motorsport part of your course like as i kinda wanna go into that field.
To be honest, very basic and vague as it covered all aspects, really wanted to learn more about engine management, ECU/mapping etc as I wanted to work for a rally team installing and mapping them but we only had a very small module on this area. It was more Design orientated hence the job I have now, hopefully get a few years experience under my belt and then move into motorsport (I live 2 miles from where they are building the Circuit of Wales)
Aeronautical engineer and in the middle of doing my B1 license. Also went back to college in my spare time and now a coded tig welder
Yeah I suppose it is, but depends how orientated you are around the business and monetary side of things.
awesome about the welsh track and will be amazing if you get into the rallying hope you do i was was wondering as im on a general engineering course and wondered if gthere is anything different in it but sounds like they are pretty similar
Student in Geoscience/Geophysics. Ideally would like to become Petrophysicist/Geophysicist or something of a similar role. OIL or Minerals.. Also work weekends... doorman, and this year to be summer HGV class 2 or 1... Machine Monkey that's pretty amazing
