im a CNC machinist making bits for fighter jets, and on my days off i work in my dads garage doing services repairs etc
Completed my engineering degree a few years ago and am now a lead design engineer for a company that supply mechanisms to the automotive industry. I mostly working on concept cars and 1 offs, its pretty good fun, get to travel alot (even if its only for a day at a time) and really enjoy it. Pretty lucky really.
I work for Driftworks. In my spare time I drink alcohol and eat in resturants. My current "phase" is old mechanical and automatic watches.
I write things for car magazines, and websites, brochures, and so on. And get paid to tell companies what to make. And so on. It's nowhere near as fun or as well paid as you might think.
yeah, a tog said that when doing my feature. it is quite criminal considering other magazines pay a lot better. ive just had a career change from vehicle damage assessor to health and safety technical consultant in construction.
Depends who you work for (ie depending what mag), some of the smaller mags employ people for money that you'd be better off on the dole for, as these people just want a foot in the door and will do anything to get their pics/words in a mag. Trouble is, they drive the prices down as some magazines will employ any old shit if they're cheap enough!
