Hey Guys, Cant believe im writing this but circumstances are changing and i need additional funds so unfortunately i need to sell my FD, as the car is currently not running and on the road I have to advertise as a project but only a small amount of things need doing, I could just use a quick sale. As some of you might have seen my build thread I got an rx7 fd rolling shell from a friend about a year ago. The body is wide arched, metal wide arches at that, no fibreglass. The car currently sits on koni coilovers but it is also plumbed for full air ride suspension, all solenoids etc, fitted and the air tank and 2 small compressors will be included. The car has very recently had a full respray in black, the wheels are riverside trafficstar stm 3 piece splits 18 x 9 +11 front and 19 x 11 +14 rear with brand new continentals all round, these alone are a small fortune. The wide arches have been formed around these specific wheels and look stunning when sitting low. car has fuel and a spark but isnt running, after having been working on it I have a feeling that might be injectors, i really dont want to sell her but needs must £7000 ono Details • 1991 Rx7 Efini • Solid body • Around 30000 miles, no proof and no compression test • No tax • No mot • Will have V5 Exterior • Full respray • Wide arches • Riverside trafficstar stm 18x9 and 19x11 • Re amemiya style rear light cover • Re amemiya ad09 style front bumper with carbon fibre cannards • Re amemiya style carbon fibre rear diffuser • Ganador electric mirrors • Carbon fibre exhaust guard • Carbon fibre c west style flush headlights • Fuel cap smoothed, filler to be relocated into cubby box inside (parts included) • Indicators smoothed • Wing vents smoothed into wings • Badges smoothed • Scoot style bonnet (not fitted) • Fuel tank removed, clean and painted red • D1 spec purple wheel nuts Interior • Carbon fibre scuff plates • Dash dodger 6 point rollcage • Omp steering wheel with quick release boss • Snap on gearknob • Colour coded dash Suspension and drivetrain • Koni coilovers • Comes with air ride suspension • Standard brakes • Standard good condition clutch • Braided clutch line • Braided brake lines (not fitted) Engine and exhaust • Standard port 13b rew • Standard sequential twins • Engine painted in cadburys purple and black, all heatproof • Polished alternator • Samco piping • Still retains A/C • Alloy pulleys • Dei reflect heat wrap on chassis and lower inlet manifold • Hks air filters • Racing beat ecu • Bosch 044 in tank • Alloy radiator • Massive alloy intercooler • HKS dump valve • HKS twin turbo downpipe • Blitz nur spec cat back Jobs that need completing • Front and rear windows bonding in • Fuel filler fitting • Bonnet catch cable fiting • Heater controls fitting • Wiring faults and no spark
That's what I was thinking...... Non runner, no proof of compression..... CRAZY WHAT! Don't get me wrong it looks great, is clean has a great selection of parts but I think someone would have to be crazy to take it for the asking price as a non runner, with wiring problems, no spark and other odds and sods.... I've seen nice clean running examples on FD:UK up for less and not sold... they were broken as a result of non sale.... such a shame though! Can't you keep it get it working, enjoy it for a bit and then sell a runner?
try building it for less than that price even to this point TABZ wheels and tyres alone are around the 5k mark and im not going to put a car together just to end up taking it apart hence why the advert is titled project, if i didnt have time restrictions this wouldnt be for sale would be finished and used then eventually for sale for much more, the time, effort, parts etc easily exceeds this price, engine is complete and have no doubt it will run soon if i can get to it, could easily just be a faulty CAS. and when i say wiring problems the back left side and brake light arent working mate so not a massive job regardless what everyones elses car is priced at or condition of the car this is the price of this one and the photos show the condition minus some parts
Sorry mate didn't mean to rattle your nest. I just don't think you're being realistic. The rx7 seem to be consistently messed about with, modded to individual taste, unrealistic build aspirations that ultimately end up as breakers or unfinished projects. There are so many of them it's untrue. Why would anybody try building one to your said spec or pay you £7k for your car, when you can buy a perfectly complete, and good running car with a decent spec for similar money that has had a rebuild. Your car is so individually modded, and not to everybody's taste, hence my breaker comment. Personally love the rx7, but most look gash, and are easy getting there with the nova/saxo modified scene. Just saying
If the wheels and tyres are around the £5k mark then sell them separately. The car looks like a nice example and would be worth £4k all day long with normal wheels. Then you've just made yourself £2k for a few hours work. Also time effort and money put into a car rarely equal the selling price
car has a spark so just needs some fuel in her and should be fired up soon, will consider sensible offers
Ignition is sorted, I have my spark back lol nowhere local has a compression tester :-( I live out in the sticks :-(
what do you mean you live in the sticks, its only stranraer FFS. Your asking crazy money for a car that has no proof the engine is even a runner. if you definately wont break then you at least need to get the engine running and tersted before anyone would even consider that kind of price.
