The belts tend to slip on the water pump pulley at high revs. The dual alternator pulley helps to stop it from happening.
Sprayed the car in a day! Literally, got help from my little sister ^^ We prepped it in two hours, then masked it for two hours. Cleared out the garage and started spraying. Finished at 11, demasked it today, it looks a lot freeeesher considering it was in a day
Hey mandems! I forgot to update this for a while, just gonna upload a bunch of photos, they will probably not be in time/date order but it will show what happened to the car Went up to finalboss in the FC, just under £200 of fuel. Was gutted not to be drifting, but after speaking to Gary I managed to get two sessions on the track. Wooop! went out sunday morning while it was a bit wet, (save daily tyres ) Mate came round to Manchester with his 13 to make a shotgun exhaust, plus a few other bits. We went out for a little shoot at the end of the day. Chasing down Max! Looking forward to next buxton Recently put neons on, ohhhh that 2001 flavour. And a lot more pictures: Just after finalboss, front brake line snapped at sainsburys! ughhh New lip! Also let Ali have a go of the FC when his PS had a bit of a breakdown!
Sick! Just put neons on my 180sx Saw Alex's snapchat of yours about 5 hours after I got mine fitted lol
So we got the same names, and put neons on at the same time? illuminati! haha, but anyway the 13 looking nice man. Thanks mate!
Nothing special, heap of a polo. Daily whilst I hang on for insurance for an E36 compact to be reasonable
Some updates! Bit of a busy week, went to down to Buxton on a Sunday, did some slips. Entered the comp for the first time and after all came 2nd after going against Ed in SR'd Escort MK2. That thing was real cool. Monday I sprayed up a E46 front bumper for a friend, Tuesday did a few more things in the garage, mainly prepping a MX5 for a respray, repairing a 300ZX Kit and much else. Wednesday I went down to Driftworks to pick up a bonnet for my new project. This was quite a task using the Clio, after strapping the bonnet down, opening the drivers door turned out to be a two man job. Some more buxton photos that flowed in over the week Fast forward a few days onto Sunday, prepping and packing the FC for Teeside! And some skid pictures I got for now Two on-board videos I'v made for now, one for each layout And to finish off, here is a picture of my new project. It's Ali's of STL old S13, I'm planning to build it back up to its full glory over the next year or so. I won't be rushing this, planning to do everything properly as in the meantime I have got the RX7 for seat time.
i always wanted that 13 so bad it look awesome on the dare, good luck with it. what will you do with the rx7 once 13 on the road?
Thanks man! Hey man! Thats nice to hear I will be keeping both on road when their both done. Will focus on the S13 first over this winter, then once its up and running it will be FC's time to get ripped apart for major welding. #JDMrustlife - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Soooo, A LOT has happened since the last time I updated this! Just before the next buxton I randomly decided to make a drag wing Was sorta rushed, took a few hours. really liked the look of it though. Some pictures from Buxton! Until this happened.... Quite a big crash Track was still drying up it seemed and there was still puddles in weird places. As it turned out I have managed to find one of them while I was fully into manji & chill with Chris glued to my ass trying to close the gap for the next corner. Puddle sent me 90 degrees towards a wall, which then I bounced off. Bout a second after Chris came flying into me at full momentum bending my whole front end to the left a few inches and snapping his hub clean in half. We were both very much gutted as we've been doing buxton since last year without much issues, but as it turns out everything good comes to an end. So long story short, we trailered both cars to my place in Manchester, while Chris headed off home with a friend. So first off I fixed the 5. New hub, straightened the camber arm, although new one is still needed. And lastly pulled a lot of the quarter out with a ratchet strap and a spare corsa followed by some action with the help of a slide hammer. Now onto the FC! I'll try and keep this as brief as possible, the FC was quite rotten up front anyway hence why the damage is so big. The whole front was moved over to the left a good few inches. There's been a few options, reshell? Well, its an option. But shells are not as common nowadays, plus sentimental value to the ACTUAL car. No.2 - cut the front end off a rear end smashed FC ? Bit cut n shut... Or 3rd option was to Tube frame it. Because I didnt want to let this shell go just yet and a semi small time frame (3 weeks for Matsuri). I chose to go for the tube frame! So straightened what we could of the old metal, then cut it out. Did more straightening, measuring, followed by more straightening. Then I received a new pair of wings from Rob cousens! Can't thank him enough. And started aligning stuff, made final straightening pulls. Everything seems good! Time for some pictures to do the talking. Meanwhile, I was also extending my lower ball joints. Heres a WIP Photo To be continued in next post......
Boom! Test fitted all the panels together after straightening and this gave me all the hope! Then we pushed it into the garage, serious work bout to happen Got tubing sorted, started making base plates to the tube frame to attach to etc. Went down to a friend last Tuesday to try and help him get his S13 running for Santa Pod on wednesday, he had all his hoses replaced as well as intake manifold gaskets, after it was put together the car refused to work at all. 8 hours in we managed to get it going. Wasnt getting fuel on cylinder 1 and 2. And spark on just cylinder 2 weirdly enough. We ended up replacing the ignition amp as well as the injectors relay thing, on top of that there was some snapped off grounds and dodgy connectors knocking about. I didn't actually get a lot of pictures because I was mostly balls deep into the S13 engine bay or watching my mate drive it! Was so glad we got it sorted in the end as this was his first drift day this year, he already missed around 2 a few weeks ago I didn't want him to miss another. And here's some very recent work (today's). I'v made up the base plates on the right side. Will do the same on the other side tomorrow, hopefully ready to start tubing in a day or two. Excuse some of these shitty welds round the top! Some of the parts of the turret their turned out a bit rusty. :v I will sort it shortly. Little photo that sums up some of the wall runs that happened at buxton before the crash ^^ haha. And of course lastly, the big crashuuu video.
