Now on Ebay, starting Bid 3k, no reserve BMW E39 540i MANUAL 4.4L V8 6 SPEED NON VANOS 5 SERIES M5 LSD | eBay
No it's not a good price... an 02 face lift went for under 3k I was watching it... Never getting 3k - I bought a 540 manual needed some work for £800 this year.
Was i the only one who noticed this was an ad in for sale section and not the have a quick bitch about the price and move along section? The the gearbox and m5 goodies plus the coilovers make this car worth at least 3k in my opinion!
Exactly why I never advertise anything on here anymore, no one wants to pay sod all for anything. It's not a wanked out e36, it's a rare as rocking horse manual running coilovers and an m5 lsd. Good luck and stick to your price, it's worth every penny of the asking price. if they can be bought for £800 I'll take ten please
I think the auction will give the answers... if someone sticks a bid in at 3k then he's obviously bang on the money, if it doesn't sell, I dunno, list it at 99p start and see what happens... I'd say 2k would be a fair price
yet i when i was selling my 540 on bcs with lower miles i couldnt even get 2k for it....eventually broke it for bits sold the car for 900 bucks, coils for 450 and kept other bits.......mines was also a non vanos
Yet I would happily spend 5-7k on an e39 m5 all day wonder how far apart the two are performance wise... Jeek e39 was fucking sick!
The fact it's a pre02 non m sport lowers the price massively, if it was an 02 540 manual m sport with the body kit he'd get 3k all day long
If it was 02 plate it would be vanos and probably broken. M5s don't seem to go for less than 9k this year so if you find one for 5 you should buy it! Jeeks 540 was up for 6k a year or 2 back if I remember rightly..
You're about 3 years behind the times with your values drift trader All the m5s worth owning are getting up around 10k If you could find a genuine 540i sport manual in good nick it'd fetch 5-7k I'm not saying I think 4 was cheap, far from it but I've built a couple to this spec and it's not cheap. There's £500 worth of diff/prop £500 coil overs, £500 wheels plus value wise £750 box and £500 motor. That's all standard prices for those parts, some might fetch more.
Wow. Can anyone give me an indication of what my 2 owner 110k mile fsh 98 540 touring auto is worth. Had a mental spec from new and sure it has m sport everything, suspension etc etc Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Completely different market, without a manual box its worthless to anyone wanting to drift and they are a huge pain in the ass to convert
