Not sure if this is best place to post this question but Driftworks staff are very knowledgeable on wheels sizes.

I've just bought a 180sx from Japan and wheels are letting it down pretty badly, looking to fit something new to it but not sure on sizes . As far as I know it's on standard wings and rear fenders, I'm looking for ideal wheel size to nicely fill the arches. It's on coilovers, I wouldn't mind rolling arch lips for clearance but not flaring etc.

As I say I think it's on standard wings and rear quarters, due to get some more detailed pics this week so can post them up to give an idea of width. Have posted some auction ones above. Could be wrong on all of that ha as whatever wheels that's on it just now look absolutely lost, but I put that down to seller changing the real wheels before sending to auction.

You could have put this in the general section dude.
I'm not dw staff but 9j is a good width on standard arches.
Et20 will clear brakes & avoid the coilovers.
It helps if the car has adjustable arms & camber tops on the coilovers.

Not necessary if you have camber adjustable top mounts.
I'm running 9j et20 all round. All I needed to do was role the rear arch

    Hi there!

S13 looks like quite a tidy purchase!
Looking at what you have said with the possibility of rolling the arches to allow a wider wheel and tyre combo I would suggest something like a 17x9 et15 if you are rolling the arches

I've attached an image of a car with a 17x9 et10/17x9 et5 staggared setup which fills the arches out with the car low the ET15 would tuck the wheels in slightly from this and allow the use of a larger tyre.

If you do need any more help on this please let me know and I'll help as much as I can.

    Thanks
    Alex

Thanks for getting back to me Alex. I'm not sure I want to tuck, I'm not going for overly aggressive fit men or super low. Would rather filling arches nicely but still seeing a bit of tyre and not having to run it super hard to avoid catching or rubbing. Once it arrives, and I can see the condition of arches and what's on it just now might give me a better idea what I want to do with, prob be easier to give you a call then

    Hi Davie

The car I used as an example is a little towards the aggressive side but runs very little camber which is why i chose it as an example on stock arches.
It is quite low but this shouldn't effect the fitment too drastically compared to being 20-25mm higher than this.
Where i say the ET15 will tuck slightly it will be by 5mm compared to the front of the red car and 10mm rear which wilth rolled arches and no stretch would work quite well.

As above I'm running 18x9 et20. Needs a slight roll on the rear. I haven't had alignment done yet so waiting before I go lower on the coilovers.
    These are currently for sale.

Keep coming back to these think they would look really nice against the black, should these fit with an arch roll?? And what tyre size would I go for?? Looking for as little stretch as I can??

Do you think 20" wheels would fit on an S13?

Not unless you heavily modified the arches
