Hey lads & ladies! Said id start a bit of a build thread here on the latest project im working on, the second iteration of a car i built a few years back, the Rx-Hate. {} I basically took a standard Rx8 and rammed a Cummins 6bt in the front of it and drove it sideways, not going to go into much detail on that but heres the build vid for anyone interested! So ever since finishing the first car, i wanted to improve the design in a number of ways: Lower the engine Push the engine way further back Improve steering geometry More power More standard bodywork Tidier tunnel work and a sealed interior etc etc etc. So I have since started the build from scratch, in a new shell! Most of the push for re-shelling the Rx-Hate is due to the fact it is going to California this summer and i dont have a logbook for the red shell. So heres a look at the new build so far and the new engine position (Yeah i know i cant compete with the engine there, but i dont care ) {} {} {} {}
Well that should help weight distribution. Must have some beefy shocks and springs up front lol? Not going to be easy changing the spark plugs
Also! For anyone interested, heres a video on last years Festival Of Drift in Kilkenny, Ireland, where Tuerck took the first rx-hate for a spin!
So its been a busy few weeks with the RxHate! Cage, tunnel, seat tubs, body fabrication all done. Ordered a few bits to start putting it together and cleaned up, serviced and painted the engine, put stainless fastners wherever i could as i went. Oh! And FlipsideAuto in Waterford got busy with the spray gun {}
Finally got a good look at the car after paint, and test fitted the Kirkey rear passenger seats, all looks good, nice to know all the fabrication that went into getting them to fit in there wasnt a waste! Heres a closer look at the cage, paint and fabrication so far! {} {} {} {} {} {}
Another episode of the original Rx-Hate! This was its last track day before the engine was pulled out.
{} Huge push to get this car done last week, still not 100% there but its come a long way... still freaks me out that i fit a truck engine in this!!
That looks mint. Fair thought twas going to go standard body.. glad you didn’t tho. Best of luck with it should be way easier to drive with the engine down and back.. bring on the vids
