    Hey all,

Long time member, had been through some cars over the past 10 years, so one I finally landed on.
One of which I really wanted to own, was the JZX chassis, more particular the JZX100. Figured I would share the build progress with all of you.

So I will let the pictures do most of the talking,

    Picked it up with
    - Tourer V - Chaser
    - 160,000kms on the clock,
    - Stock 1JZ VVTI,
    - Auto,
    - Non LSD diff,
    - Riverside's 17x8 +40, 17x9 +38.

Vehicle came with about 28k of receipts over the 10 years of ownership by previous owner all shoved into a bulging clear laminate. Including importation papers and other cool little paperwork that was from the initial purchase.

Some of the minor particulars which were done already,

    - ARP Head Studs (2009)
    - Head Gasket replaced. (2009)
    - Valve Cover re-welded crack (2010)

There were a bunch of TRD optioned extras, such as the steering wheel, gear knob, fuel cap, oil cap.

So I decided to do a service, pretty much straight away,

    However...

Our cats reaction pretty much sums up mine, 41838954_10216928574629521_350151422169317376_n. to what I found when I first jacked up the car in the air...

    40661173_10216816435146104_5919814021770379264_n.

The coil overs had been in the vehicle for nearly 8 years! surprised they have lasted this long let alone still not knocking. The sound was not very apparent when driving, however if you'd come off any form of bump or driveway it handled like absolute crud. The springs had seen better days however. Luckily I worked for one of the distributors prior, so on to get a set of fresh 22kg springs we went, along with a few TLC rubber bits and pieces...

    40602463_245574482813210_6977843377932861440_n. 40685104_457703498051818_2078950070333472768_n.

After pulling the fronts apart, I replaced everything and set everything back up correctly. Comparison shot side by side. Unfortunately who ever set the vehicle up prior, made it so the springs were not captive when the wheels were up in the air.

Took the ridiculously useless cannon muffler off, and got a straight pipe made up,
    36900005_10216358198490474_2171042351072411648_o.
Started to clean up the paint, saw straight away, it has had a pretty poor history of polishing and waxing.

    36858844_10216358357294444_730785185016053760_o.

So I contacted our main man Tavis @Monstr Detailing, and after gruelling 7 hours, I was met with basically a car that was no longer black, felt like it took nearly 20 years off the car itself.

    Thanks Nite_Shayde :)

So continuing on, after picking up the car I wanted to sort a few little things with the alignment and offsets.
    36725247_10216339351259305_766927858797903872_n.
Front wheels were the main culprit, to which I contacted a buddy who happened to have some lips laying around to match the Riversides, in order to make them 'wider'.

    40307894_330110504219195_5808509033761472512_n.
Rears had a pretty decent size, in no way was it sticking past the guard, however a 8mm spacer had solved majority of the fitment. After which all I really needed was to pull the camber out as much as I can to get it to basically zero.

    40337245_308993009907317_8022208368657563648_n.

    40603767_309261222959688_1269044127366905856_n.
Playing around with the heights, I realised that I will definitely need the guards rolled, so that was done by a mobile fellow. Quick and easy,
    41375478_425965241141054_3796614733042286592_n.
New lips for the front, pretty much will be a square set for front and rear offset wise, but will be smaller in size on the inner lip.

    40449689_281603942447475_4590813512455946240_n.

    Finished and assembled.

Started addressing some of the interior blunders.. JZX100 interiors in chasers are absolutely gorgeous! Absolutely one of my favourites of all time.

    36851893_10216359211715804_6474612672724729856_n.

    Stripped back the roof lining.

Cleared out the parking area in our apartment and got a car cover for when we are away for extended periods.
    37295154_10216423651206751_2031274859606048768_n.
Decided to address the sound deadening aspect, the car is a daily driver and Friday night hack for me, so its primary purpose is to be also comfortable. So instead of pulling everything out of the interior like most people do, I decided to add sound deadening.
    39982259_10216734541858823_2687957285942067200_o.
Ended up getting EZ lip kits in stock at work, and decided to add a bit more aggression to the rear end.
    38041956_10216530512718222_6495486080639303680_n.
Added the side skirt lip kit as well.
    40421141_220019808871786_5615416422348881920_n.

Decided to address the ride height.. unfortunately Australia sucks with the 100mm rule... but gotta make do.
    40683950_10216823033151050_4408512788058603520_o.

and add the final front lip kit onto the front bar.

Fuel Pump bolts on these cars are absolutely F****ed to do..

Managed to get it done, after a lot of...swearing..

Really good to see Toyota have a nice amount of baffling inside, so shouldn't need a surge tank.

    39526433_2063011433751308_2253805224110063616_n.

Begun pulling it all apart to get a few things ready. Meanwhile my J pipe delete arrived as well.

    39173229_10216650918728297_3619990117164253184_n.

Good timing on the upgrade as the old piping has had it.

40042214_284002005662493_1739752678784761856_n. Test fit with the little room I have to play with in the engine bay.
    40106788_522195424875390_798715551705726976_n.
Sorted some of the wiring woes underneath too, after removal of the J pipe.
    41413749_2109040152746326_5911808370234359808_n.
Looking at the exhaust system further down, I can only imagine how much of a restriction this is...

    40096944_10216758632661078_2869361036484411392_n.

Next to address was the ziptied mess on the radiator, which is not out of this car but what seems to be out of potentially a JZX90.

$10 brackets from hardware store...and done. Can't believe previous owner did not bother to fix this.

    41521118_2182298035315426_2483129286278512640_n.

Took it for a decent drive and man I will never ever get tired of that sound!
    41370453_551017171997537_14181960536555520_n.

Definitely experienced some stalling issues, however did need to raise the idle just a touch anyway as it is just a touch too low.

Yeah, great work on the interior, that lip kit looks great in the last picture with the 17s too. I know how impractical 17s could be if it was too low, but that last picture looks awesome!

    Thanks EMGADNIM :)

Thanks Counteract, yeah it takes a bit to get them took good with smaller wheels, not just by slamming them into the depths of the pacific ocean... I am slowly progressing up to the current stage to release the photos.

Sooooo moving on, our cat was getting fatter....and my chaser wasn't gaining any width... I was now pretty content with the stance, only thing left to do was to get some adjustable upper arms and castor arms for the front to increase the track
and gain a bit more camber, since
the lower arms have plenty of camber adjustment. And get some adjustable arms for the rear, to remove camber and make it look a little more aggressive in the front and rear.

    34706059_10216117167344846_4805407803894136832_n.

Since this is a daily drive, my priority was really not on getting it to look like it had been through WW3.
    41084821_364802187392760_197880288766853120_n.

Decided to find out what power it will put down in its current form without a downpipe or a front mount intercooler on just 15 psi.
Unfortunately the way I had routed the aftermarket regulator (in line with factory regulator off the front of the rail - fitting required, which I did not have at the time) was causing the fuel pressure to spike to extreme numbers due to "double'd up reg". Did not lift above 10.0 AFR through the entire rev range..

    42418617_10216992232660932_8658104970052108288_o.
In turn running so rich and throwing flames turned my muffler from good to bad in a matter of 3 pulls..

    42363824_316540668897821_1957407615457689600_n.

Had some time to take care of some of the under the bonnet pieces, got a K&N Filter instead of the TFI, which has a very poor filtration rate compared to anything else on the market. I still need to address the battery relocation, and cooling aspect by getting a proper setup instead of the viscous, or adapt a newer viscous similar to Gktech style fans. Most likely will follow MotionautoTV with the DIY Sprayer for cooling, as Australian weather is pretty harsh during summer and matsuri days.
    44290414_10217181367749191_468302446314127360_o.

Tidied up the inside and installed a boost gauge, DEPO branded gauges are pretty much an identical gauge to the DEFI, however half the price through my work, and have the same kind of start up procedure.
Also purchased a HKS Fuel Cut Defender, to suit the 1JZ! Bring on that lack of boost cut! and 400hp club my way.

Decided on some drastic changes, since I was getting a bit tired of the chrome.. I did not bother to fix the gutter rash as eventually I will get them rebuilt and repolished on the lips.
    42924796_329974734433906_5396092246636363776_n.

Rear tyres were pretty shagged by now so I also got some fresh rears put on in a 245-45-17 this time down from a 255-40-17.

Many have voiced their opinions about upgrading to the Supra brake package, but at the end of the day, I have had zero complaints... even with factory brakes. So with upgraded rotors and pads, it still stopped on a dime. When I get a bit of time however, still need to paint my callipers gold however.

Theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen I left for Darwin for 5 days, came back and first start up the power steering felt heavy.. I didn't really think much of it as the belt was still on, figured may have been sitting around for awhile...however.. turned out to be this.

Apparently was pretty common on 1jz's, so replacement was ordered a street series balancer and put on by my local shop, as I simply do not have the time nor tools for that matter to do only costing $80 labour.

    Thanks fellas!

Sooo to finally bring this thread up to date! I wanted to get rid of the factory style skirts, since the dip in the centre, I am really not a fan of..
So I got a hold of some genuine Vertex skirts!

    - Top mount time! (I merely want 400hp at the wheels, which will be veeeeeeery easy to achieve for a reliable daily setup.)
    - Finish getting remaining bits and pieces for the manual conversion!
    - Kazz 1.5 Way!
    - Repair and respray front bar.
    - Clear indicators.
    - Adjustable arms front and rear.
    - Downpipe.
    - Go lower in the rear once the exhaust has an oval near the rear cradle!
    - Address cooling
    - Add oil coolers for power steering and main.
    - Add relocation kit for block.
    - Roof wing
    - Much more under wraps!
    - And most importantly! Seat time! Seat time! Seat time!

Merry Christmas! and Happy new year!
    Stay safe and drink plenty!

    See you all in 2019!

Top Mount will be awesome, I'm hoping for the same reliable power if I ever take the plunge and ditch the stock Twins on my JZX90...

    Have a good Christmas..!

New year is off to a bang, with some fresh steers, Yoko v701's, raised the front 20mm as it was getting ridiculous for daily driving, and got a fresh alignment getting a touch more camber in the front to -2.5*

I acquired a 4 point cage for the rear end, came in candy red, so may change the colour at a later stage, but I do quite like the red.

Had to make a few brackets trim and cut a little to get it to fit, but fit nice and straight.
